Felger,

I also look forward to hearing your thoughts on the acoustic characteristics of the HD250HJ drive.

I'm really curious to see how quiet/silent this single platter drive from Samsung is.

Thanks

Thanks for the follow up here Joe123.

If anyone is interested, SunBeam sells a PCI Slot fan controller without the fan, similar to the Scythe one used in this build by joe123.

Like Tikka above, I too am interested in whether the Nexus fans now come with open corners?

Jackal, if you can list which website you got them from, it would be much appreciated!

I currently have two of these drives (the Western Digital and Samsung), and I'd have to say the Samsung wins noise wise. The Western Digital is pretty quiet itself, but has a noticeable idle noise in a completely quiet room (my ambient noise level is pretty low) so I was able to hear it sitting a co...

I found an interesting thread here: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1172321 It seems someone received a new type of mounting bracket for the scythe ninja? I see no mention of it on Scythe's website though. Anyone else know about this? I wonder if the bracket will be sold separately at some...

I believe the best way to test if the IHS on your CPU is flat is to take a razor blade and put it on top of the IHS and flash a source of light behind it....and see if there is any light that makes it through. If some light does make it through, then your IHS might be a bit concave, but if not, then...

I've been pondering over the same question for the past 2 weeks.... 1. Nexus - the problem with this is that its a closed cornered fan, so you'd have to do a mod with this fan in order to mount it on the Ultra-120. Other than this drawback, its a great fan. I wish these Nexus's were made with open c...
