http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=703 The 8800GT completely and utterly slaughters the HD3870, perfomance-wise. :( edit: Do note that they're using Catalyst 7.9 drivers. I would expect new drivers to make a difference, but with the huge performance gap, I think they'll only go so far. Ho...

~1250RPM at full speed. PWM control might be to blame for the strange reading(s).Felger Carbon wrote:50% of 1200RPM is 800?? Have you tried just running the Noctuas at 100%, not controlled by Speedfan, just to see what happens?

*bump* http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/2830/iconfoilpx1.gif After some more fooling around, I've managed to drop idle to 35-36 and load to 44-46. I lapped both the Ultra-120 and the IHS of my CPU first, but that didn't show much of change (=within margin of error). So what I did was apply AS5 usi...

Perhaps it won't be necessary to take any more steps. I had foolishly left the vcore on 'auto' - which in this case meant 1.375V. By lowering it to 1.325V, temps dropped to about 40C idle, and 55C under TAT load. Less when using Orthos - after 20 mins it's still at ~51C. All fans are still running a...

I'll try that fan configuration. By the way, I meant the front door, and not the side panel. Just in case there's any confusion. edit: Okay... maybe 1C lower at idle & load. I'm all out of cardboard so I can't try building a duct right now. Perhaps I really should remove the HS. Any tips on how to p...

E6400, ultra-120 and strange temperatures.
Greetings silencers, I've somewhat of a problem with my E6400 operating temps. Currently, the setup is such: Ambient temp of 23C P180 SPRC edition P5B Deluxe/Wi-Fi (0614 BIOS if memory server me correct) E6400 running at 8x333 Ultra-120 & AS5 (absolute minimum applied only) Fans etc.: 2x Noctua NF-S...
