If you're system is running stable I wouldn't worry about it to much, maybe double check it like everyone said with a multimeter but I've had so many mobos that reported odd numbers. Yeah, I know, it's in Polish, a truly difficult language to master Really? I heard 3 year old Polish children have a ...

As another big fan fan-atic I know what you're saying. You've got two cooling concerns, total exchange rate and spot cooling. The trick is finding the sweet spot. Sometimes you can duct the main intake and exhaust well enough to get proper spot cooling, sometimes you'll get better results both noise...

There are quite a few ways to layouit such a rig,I sketched up some ideas for a horizontal Mobo, Glass top coffee table homebuilt case that would be both bling and silent.. too bad I don't have the cash now.... Yah - I'm currently making a custom mATX case that uses both a 220 and a 200. Really if ...

Re: Big 220mm Fan Experiments/Results.
Perhaps a different CPU heatsink would give better temp results running fanless in this setup, but I doubt it. Conclusion....this big fan makes a good case fan, but not a CPU fan. I think this experimental setup can be tweaked into a really quiet computer.....running very cool. But it will take car...

I agree 100% with the cfm / noise ratio of large fans, but the issue is how effective is the usage of all that airflow. True - that is a concern. Attempting to increase cooling and reduce noise by increasing the exchange rate through the case solely isn't really an efficient nor an elegant way to a...

For a quiet system the general airflow displayed in the 'simulation', and the one in Felger Carbons's case, is overkill IMHO. One person's overkill is not enough for another. I already replied to all your concerns on how it's wrong - it was a simple model for a graphic example on a point. If you wa...

That 'simulation' looks wrong to me. It is wrong - it was a quick one I had my friend run (I don't have access to Ansys atm). I didn't have all my exhaust vents placed into the model, and obviously there's no account for the PSU/VGA's direct exiting or VGA card/HSF and motherboard interferring with...

Yah - big fans are addicting. I currently have a 220mm from a Thermaltake side panel and an Antec Big Boy 200mm slated to be shoe horned into the custom case I'm making. I'm just going to set them as intakes, I've never seen much gain with series configurations. The only down side is the lack of vel...
