Re: modding bios on gtx560 to lower fan speed?

I don't think NiBiTor will change anything in the BIOS apart from the fanspeed settings. The greying out of other settings is I suspect just an indication that they are uneditable, so saving the BIOS after a fanspeed change should not affect them. If you are not using it already it already could I ...

Re: modding bios on gtx560 to lower fan speed?

it doesn't seem to load all the info from my card.... is the version publicly available compatible? With an nVidia 5xx series card, not the Gigabyte 560Ti, I find that with nVidia Bios Editor (NibiTor) 6.02 the Clockrates and Voltages tabs are greyed out. Advanced Info apparently reports the correc...

modding bios on gtx560 to lower fan speed?

my gigabyte gtx 560 ti runs at 40% speed when idle, it sits about 30C which i'm none too bothered about but the noise that comes with this minimum speed is driving me nuts! searched for a utility to flash the bios to lower the speed called nvidia bios editor (v6.02) and its really confusing, i can r...

Re: (silenty) replacement psu

Antec HCG-620 is nothing more then slightly modified Seasonic S12II 620/M12II. The guts are the same but with 135mm ADDA fan instead of the ADDA 120mm. I cannot speak for how quiet it is but hey it's Seasonic. if its essentially a seasonic (they're a good make, right?) i'm thinking that as i'm look...

how about this Antec HCG-620 , i can currently get it for £47 delivered compared to £60 for the seasonic. both are 80 PLUS BRONZE certification (whatever that means!), the seasonic has a 120mm fan whilst the antec is higher rated and has a 135mm fan and the antec is, according to scan's page, more e...

Re: (silenty) replacement psu

Your old components are much less power efficient than the new ones, and even though the new system will be faster, it probably doesn't use any more power; possibly less. interesting, would i cause any damage to any components if i upgraded the board/cpu/gfx then if i doesn't work due to the psu no...

quite the opposite, turned out to be slower than the original 768mb version of 460
ah i see, did a google around with some people suggesting the SE stood for "sucky edition" heh :)

in my lenovo x201, it posted slightly worse read numbers than my 120gb vertex 2e in the same system, but murdered it in the write test even though its write speed was rated at 205MB/s compared to 275MB/s that the vertex is meant to do.

i used crystal disk to test it.

Re: fastest passive (nvidia) card available?

How the Gigabyte 560 Ti OC fits in I wouldn't like to say but suspect the difference in noise to be minimal vs the GTX 560 OC version. The twin 100mm fan setup fitted to the GTX 560 OC is the most recent of Gigabyte's twin fan technologies, in fact this is the first card I am aware of with it that ...

having looked around, i see that passively cooled ATI card which is meant to be comparable to a nvidia 460 but its passive. might wait to see how that pans out, cost wise, else i may just go with a fan based nvidia card.

Re: cooler for coolermaster black widow + i5 2500k + asus p8

This has been a source of frustration for original Ninja owners, particularly since as you have noted this cooler at 152mm high can be used in cases where standard height (159/160mm) tower coolers simply will not fit. when did cases start getting wider to accomodate these monster tower coolers, i t...

i think have more or less leant towards the bundle as is with the AC13, its just not worth the potential stress if the ninja doesn't work. i realise the bundle comes at a premium compared to the parts alone and in the past i would've saved the extra ££ and do it myself, but i just dont have the time...

i've got these on my case fans and i think they're pretty good. on the rear exhaust of my case, the hole has no grill so im supposed to put a grill there.

my question is which side(s?) should i be putting the grill on? the side which sucks the air in or blows it out? or both?
