This is crazy, crazier than even Russia!

The weight of it (empty) must be incredible.

The heat capacity looks so incredible it must be able to handle what, 1000W passively? And much more with a big silent fan hidden underneath.

Is it me or have things slowed down considerably? laptops handhelds game consoles all more popular than ever producing reduced demand for desktop computers unfortunately desktop parts still have room to grow. for instance, cases still suck. but things move slowly because of low demand, so here we are

Re: ~HD4850 performance but more efficient

I've read conflicting reports about some Nvidia cards (GTX260, GTS250, 9800GT, 9800+GT, etc.) being more power efficient than AMD HD4850 and performing at least around as well. What is the general consensus about this? To be more specific, we're talking about power consumption at load. http://image...

quiet means thick case walls, no vibrations, slow fans, smart air flow... and you'll find that cases with giant holes tend to leak a lot of noise and if you want a video card with good game and thermal performance, get a gts 250. when the video card exhausts heat on its own and only ramps up when ga...

It is obviously a fringe product for AMD right now, but little do the bigwigs know, it is a very important one! This platform is the cutting edge of home computer convergence. Who wins when the status quo is disrupted and a new product is delivered to consumers that saves them money, brings them new...

Now all we need is a way for unintegrated components to work with the system. The #1 problem people have when trying to ride this razor's edge is "if my computer is both my htpc out to a tv and my desktop computer out to my monitor, and it is now my amp, then how do I hook up my game console?" You m...

you can't fit a tower cooler in a case like that, the tower cooler is as big as the whole case, and is twice as much metal as you need for that cpu! all you need is one of the many flat top low profile heatsinks made by just about every major manufacturer. now which one will fit best, and which will...

s1283 is more than enough for any x86 processor ever made!!!

and s1283 is also the highest performance for the lowest cost AND lowest WEIGHT! it uses less materials than other heatsinks and cools as well as the other best heatsinks.

You didn't mention anything about the front fan. Remember the temperature of the hot stuff depends on how much cool air you are shooting at it :) And like mentioned, those temperatures may or may not be a problem. I suspect that you might be more comfortable if you shoot cold air at the video card f...

hr01, ultra 120, 1283, ninja, etc... all the top tower heatsinks perform very similarly. the real differences are in price, fin spacing (important depending on the fan speed you plan to use), and mounting system. of those three things maybe one of them actually matters to most people.

this is simplified possibly to the point of being inaccurate, but:

sorbothane for vibration isolation and probably vibration dampening

vinyl for vibration dampening via mass-loading and sound wave reflection

dense open cell foam for sound wave absorption
