Re: New build, which fans?

Thanks guys, I'll go with the Scythe then. I paid £120 for my 60GB at the time :) seeing 256GB drives for not that much more now. Yea, that's how I look at it now. In two years time the cost-performance ratio will have improved significantly. Thanks for the info on SandForce. A couple of mates have ...

Re: New build, which fans?

Hey ces, the Noiseblockers are available. I'm from Germany. Hey Jordan, you're right, I don't know how my usage will change in the future. But knowing my current usage, is it worth it spending 50EUR more on the 120GB version instead of waiting until I need more? If I can't justify the extra 40EUR fo...

Re: New build, which fans?

Hi sjoukew. The ssd is only for / and /home. I've considered the 90GB and 120GB versions, but considering / and /home are currently using less than 45GB I see no point in spending more, especially since I have the 500GB WD, a 1TB Samsung and another 2TB Samsung for storage as well as external backup...

Re: New build, which fans?

Hi kuzzia, I have a 30" monitor and the 6450 does 2560x1600 whereas the iGPU only does 1920x1200. The main reason I picked the WD is because of its 5 year warranty. I looked at JonnyGuru's reviews of the TX550M and TX750M which are positive. And it's made by Seasonic. Thank you for those numbers and...

New build, which fans?

Hi. Obviously I'm building a new rig and would be grateful for another set of eyes. Maybe I've missed something or made an unwise choice. CPU: Intel i5-3450 MB: ASUS P8Z77-V LX RAM: Corsair Vengeance Low Profile black 8GB PC3-12800U CL9-9-9-24 Cooler: Scythe Mugen 3 Rev. B Video: Sapphire Radeon HD ...

Thank you. Any specific 4350 that's better than the others? Can't seem to find a test that compares the different 4350s, just 4350vs4550 etc... Checked the prices here and they're all between 20-35EUR which is very nice. And a 4350 will definitely be good enough for mostly office/programming work an...

Need suggestions for new ATI card

Hi, I need a new video card, because my onboard doesn't quite cut it with a 30" I want to buy. Unfortunately, I don't know what's good these days. Last time I bought a normal card AGP was still the best. My requirements are simple: AMD/ATI active quiet cooling. don't trust passive. relatively cheap....

I have a single Samsung HD403LJ in the bottom part of the HD cage and its current temperature is 28°C with an ambient temperature of 20°C. Here's an older picture, the cables look worse than they actually were. http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/6607/pcqf6.th.jpg I don't know the Sonata either, so...

I don't have any experience with the 3480, but the 4480 is a decent case with a good and quiet PSU, especially at such a low price. The airflow in my 4480 is good as well, although I'd prefer a 120mm fan in the front instead of an 80mm. I use a Noctua NF-R8 1800rpm in the front and and a Scythe S-Fl...

NSK-4480 and Ultra 120

Hi,
I have an Antec NSK-4480 and am wondering if a Thermalright Ultra 120-Extreme will fit.
From the looks of it, it might be a very tight fit, does anyone have any idea?

I went ahead and bought what I've written in the first post, except I changed the CPU to the AMD X2 5200+ EE. I also got a Noctua NF-R8-1800 and an Scythe SFlex 1200rpm as I got them cheap (for 10EUR, the SilentEagle would have been 9EUR) at the shop I finally ordered (everything ~390EUR). Now my on...

Hi, I would suggest that you take another look at the motherboard. The EVGA S775 nForce 650i Ultra ATX (mfr: 122-CK-NF66-T1) or the XFX S775 650i Ultra ATX (mfr: MB-N650-IUL9) are extremely good, especially for overclocking. They are also identical, both manufactured by Foxconn and are nvidia refere...

Couldn't find a board for the e21x0 that I could warm up to, thus, after carefully pondering the pros and cons, I think the X2 EE 4600+ boxed for 84,- is the best choice.
Any last comments/objections before I order?

Hi protellect,
indeed, the yate-loons aren't available. :(
The black edition of the 5000+ costs 124EUR as well, thus I didn't pay attention to it, but you are correct, the 5600+ is just too expensive for me at the moment.
Crucial 800 is more expensive (70EUR) and 667 costs 50-55EUR.

Hi thejamppa, the price difference between the OCZ/Corsair/KingstonValue-667s with 5-5-5-15 timings and the OCZ-800 is ~5EUR, so this is negligible. Thank you for recommending the Silent Eagle (costs 8EUR). I also forgot to mention the budget limit. It is set at 450EUR, current setup is 430EUR inclu...

Another question, how well does the P182SE handle sunlight shining on it compared to the P180?
I'd assume that the P180 would get hotter and thus louder, whereas the P182SE should reflect the sunlight pretty well and thus temperature and noise level should increase only slightly.

Need advice on PC-parts-List

Hi, I'm currently planning a new PC, which I'll build in about 4-5 months, because I'm waiting for prices to go down. The goal is not an extremely silent PC, but a fair compromise between noise and cooling. PSU: Seasonic S12Energy+550 Mainboard: Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 _or_ Abit AW9D-MAX Case: SilverSt...
