Re: I have the time, but I lost the desire.

It is from the aspect that it's very offensive if you aren't friends with whom you use it on, andf even then how and when you use it. Only the racial aspects are missing from it, everything else applies. Just as the N word is not offensive when used among close friends. i hardly call "wanker", it's...

it's really not. for starters, it bears no racial connotation.

it means literally "wanker". between close friends it's the equivalent of "bro".

here in this context it would be more of a mild insult.

A couple of worrisome points: the minimum operating capacity is 2.5 kW, I wonder what could happen if you run out of water (like when the water company does some digging / repairing)? Would the reactor suffer the equivalent of a melt-down? According to the reports, a nominal 10 kW unit can ocasiona...

Re: Republican Bill to Redefine Pi - Again

3.14 is a good approximation, who can't remember that? 3 is a good approximation in some instances (doing approximations in your head). But I don't think we need to legislate that. It's amazing how laissez fair and pro-states rights Republicans are when it comes to the freedom of corporations and r...

I suppose you could camouflage your geothermal plants? Put the Solar panels on roofs of existing buildings (avoid putting them on ground based arrays, avoid building new structures that mar the scenery). I could see off shore wind farms being doable but you'd have to be careful about placement (aga...

I do not mind the HD noise, it is not right beside me, its under the desk, so the noise is not THAT loud! "Not that loud" is a hugely subjective statement that you'll probably be retracting after using a quiet/almost silent machine for some period of time. now to comment on the question posed in yo...

Well, I guess it depends, the presence of the moon can be attributed to the gravity well created by the sun, so you could say it's originally from the sun. On the other hand, the matter in the moon (and the uranium driving nuclear reactors) coalesced out of the original nebula that created the sun,...

Re: Why do the French have so many Strikes.?

This question would ideally be answered by a Frenchman. In England whenever we turn on the news and see that there is a massive strike going on in France, we usually ask only 2 questions, "will it affect us" (like many of them do, on purpose I might add), and "why". Most of us dont really care why,...

it works *okay*. i prefer names and avatars and such to be over on the left side, not the right side. on a wide-screen display at fullscreen, forums are a little hard to keep track of who's making what comments if the names are so far from the comments.
