You could have it run auto. Set your desired speed to the minimum. Then set the regulating temp high and it will never increase the fan speeds. For instance my motherboard temp doesn't seem to vary very much, so setting it even 10C high would be a temp that doesn't seem likely to ever reach Another ...

Speedfan Registry Startup - Correcting Dual Startup
After manually changing my programs menu, I began getting two speedfans on startup. I tried to figure out some way to get the shortcut in the startup folder to work again, but everything I tried left me with either no startup or two copies. What I ended up doing was removing the startup shortcut and...

I noticed the video card and north bridge were getting a lot hotter than the rest of the computer. The first thing I wanted was to cool them. At first I tried mounting a fan vertically and blowing across the video card, but that didn't have much effect on the north bridge with the case open or close...

Speedfan automatic fan speeds?
Thanks to the forum I can now use speedfan to manually adjust my fan speeds. What I can't seem to figure out is if it's possible to use the program to run from startup and automatically control speeds by temperature like Easy Tune can do. On Easy Tune you just set two speeds and when the temperature...

I ordered two of the YL and an E model Scythe. The D12SL-12 fans I got were basically junk. Around 900-1000rpm the only fan I've used that's louder than the YL is my Tuniq Tower fan. The Scythe is impressive, but of course at that speed both my Coolermaster case fan and Aerocool Xtreme Turbine are r...

Gigabyte motherboard fan control?
I have a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 motherboard. How can I control the fan speeds with this board? The impression I got looking at the manual is that both the CPU and system fans could be controlled by the motherboard. - Using speedfan the RPMs make no sense at all and setting the speeds 0 has no effect. ...

So far I haven't figured out, how do you adjust fan speeds with the Gigabyte motherboards? On the default bios settings, speedfan and Easy Tune seem to have no effect. My only guess is that maybe I need to turn off auto fan speed and set the bios to maybe legacy for the 3 pin fans. One thing I do kn...

IR remote on?
What commercial products allow for IR remote control of Vista including remote on? I've seen VLSystem and Soundgraph. I would consider buying the first, but I'm curious if there's any other options.

Help Me Quiet a Coolmaster Case
INTENT: I have a Centurion 5 case that I would like to quiet. The case is a midtower with 80mm intake fan at the bottom front, mesh for most of the front, a couple openings in the side, a 120mm output at the top back near the interior CPU and power supply fans. I went with the case mostly for price ...

I don't know anything about computer monitors, but hooking up a computer to an HDTV is no big deal. I was able to use VGA for my old 37" LCD and now I'm using HDMI from a 8600GTS to a 50" SXRD. I was a little worried about the current TV because it's rear projection that has overscan, and because th...
