Are you sure XVideo really work? I've just installed Ubuntu 8.04a6 and Catalyst 8.3 on the same board as you have and xdpyinfo says I have xvideo. But xvinfo doesn't, and nor does mplayer or xine. Yes I'm sure. xvinfo tells me that I have an AVIVO device and mplayer plays all videos just fine. Ther...

The only thing I'm missing (apart from this mysterious driver ) is a graphics driver for Linux. Does anyone know if Catalyst 8.3 works? Yes, I do  I just installed the Linux Catalyst 8.3 on Ubuntu 7.10. And I'm very pleased to see that both 3D and XVideo work! But the UVD engine is not ...

Ever since I finished my installation I'm asking myself what this "unknown device" shown in the XP hardware manager could be. Is that what you referred to as the missing "Northbridge Filter Driver" problem? Did you get the driver? Where? And what does it do? After years of using Asus I gave Gigabyte...

I just ordered the updated Fusion 430 case with 80plus psu (according to their HP, Antec only offers it in Europe atm). Amazon(.de) offered it for 85 EUR a few days ago and I just... couldn't... resist... I know it has the same internal layout as the NSK2480, so I'll stick with the standard-s...

@CountTyro: The multiplier is only greyed out, if you enable Cool 'n' Quiet. So it's either use C'n'Q with default multiplier or disable it and change the multiplier. I don't know why they implemented it this way though...

I'm currently using BIOS 1603 (although there's a new beta BIOS available), and it seems as if undervolting works much better again! I'm running my BE-2400 (stepping G2) at 11.5x210 / 1.05V with takeMS DDR2-800 RAM at 1.8V. I'm not sure if this is influenced by the new processor (previously I used a...

I'd like to use my Arctic Fans with this setup (NSK2480 + Scythe Ninja Mini), but they are 38mm thick (usually 120mm fans are merely 25mm thick). Can you tell me how much space there is between the Ninja and the side of the case, yamahaSHO? This probably also depends on the mobo, but I think the lay...

My experience so far with the M2A-VM HDMI BIOS 1501 is that it requires slightly higher CPU voltages to run stably I can confirm that. With previous BIOS versions, I was able to run my BE-2350 at 10.5x215 / 1.05V stable. Now I'm using 10.5x200 / 1.20V. I tried decreasing it, but I always have to cl...

I don't have any flickering either, neither on XP nor on (K)Ubuntu. I use a 4400+ (65nm), 2x 1024MB takeMS RAM and Samsung 225BW at 1680x1050 via DVI. I use the latest BIOS mentioned above (1001).

Today I should receive the components for my new workstation. Among them is a M2A-VM HDMI, which I'm planning to use with my Samsung 225BW via DVI at the problematic resolution 1680x1050. I won't use Vista but XP and Kubuntu. I'll post my experiences here once I'm done... Damn! My order got delayed...
