Re: Lian Li PC-V354 MicroATX Mini Tower Case

Mike: Thanks for the quick response!

Alas, my plans for a "Sandy Bridge" build have been rendered moot - will likely be deferred for a few months, at least until the ground in the DIY market stops shaking from Intel's latest earthquake.

Re: Lian Li PC-V354 MicroATX Mini Tower Case

Thanks for the Lian-Li PC-V354 case review! :D I am a bit confused as to the available clearance for CPU HSF though... on page 4 of the review you show this image: http://www.silentpcreview.com/files/images/lianli-pcv354/18.jpg With the caption: " Our test system included a Core i5-750 processor coo...

200mm fan is not silent, its quiet but not silent and as of best very hard to replace. Antec Three Hundred would offer great cooling but is hardly a silent case though. Replacement (with another identical Antec 200mm fan ) ain't hard. Finding a QUIETER alternative 200mm fan... THAT is har...

Some followup to my earlier post, I sent an email query to Noctua and received the following diagram in response to my query (Thank you Noctua!) :) http://lh3.ggpht.com/krpgnv/SLda4CurUtI/AAAAAAAAAB8/NB7FzbYSt4A/s800/c12p-dimensions.jpg Which implies that if the NH-C12P is mounted with the curved he...

That most likely depends on the motherboard used as the CPU socket placement varies slightly. I'll post my setup in the gallery once i put it together, OrigenAE S16V, noctua C12P and P5Q mobo. But it really depends on where the socket is. Id does not go over the mobo on the P5Q. Thanks, glad to hea...

interesting review from XBit Labs: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coolers/display/noctua-nh-c12p.html It's a well done review, but their focus is quite different from ours. They urge Noctua to make a high performance HS w/o regard to noise. Also the results they obtained with the Thermalright SI-...

Re: Wanted: Discussion of Watercooling versus Oil Submersion

... WATERCOOLING (water blocks, tubing, radiators): Still not absolutely silent: + you have replaced mobo and GPU fans with a water pump. But even water pumps make noise (so, get a good one, maybe suspend it or use a pad). + PSU has not been silenced, unless you water cool that too (some people do)...

Beware - don't set that box on a slippery surface or the torque from all those HD's will make the entire chassis spin in the opposite direction the HD's rotate!! :D

BOLT THROUGH KIT!!

If you are only using the push-pins that came with the Ninja-B.... get a Thermalright bolt-though kit to replace the push-pins You can crank on more pressure with that and get better results. :D

The Apricorn "EZ-BUS-DTS-EKIT" is by far the best cooling external case I've ever used.

Comes with everything one might need, both USB and eSATA external cables, mounting screws etc. I have several of these units and have had no problems whatsoever with them.

Thermalright Ultra-120s into P150 | Solo | Designer cases?

To judge from some of the photo's posted here and in the Gallery forum, it is possible to use a Thermalright Ultra-120x HSF in a P150 / Solo / Sonata-Designer type case... however the photo's beg one question: I assume that one must assemble the Ultra-120x with its bolt-through backplate kit onto th...

Not familiar with your case, but a Thermalright SI-128 SE with a 25mm thick fan is 117mm high. I've seen reviews that indicate the new SE model is about as good as a heatsink gets. 8) Another one about the same height is the Scythe Mini-Ninja I think I would prefer the bolt-through mounting system o...

What CPU HSF's fit well in a Fusion / NSK2400 case?

Question for Antec Fusion / NSK2400 case owners: What CPU HSF cooler's fit well into an Antec Fusion or Fusion V2 or NSK2400 case? I am particularly concerned with the interior height, which from images showing the 120mm fans on the right side of these cases would appear to be only a little more th...

Any idea what sort of PSU options they plan to offer?

Mike - if Antec listens to you or reads the SPCR forums, here's a thought for them: One may hope that this new case will be available without a PSU , or at least with a fairly beefy one - especially if this case is targeted at gamers with watt-hungry video cards. Antec makes great cases, but one siz...
