gemini ii sux for overclocking, well not sux just isn't as great now that i've had months playing with it. why did i get a gemini ii? it was nearly free w/ the rebates they were throwing around plus it looks and feels monsterous. long story short i have 2 amd x2 3600's overclocking both to 2.9g "nea...

i really don't see any validation in the arguements against amd here, i've built 2 nearly identical machines both w/ amd x2 3600 1.9ghz procs, which i've both oc'd to 2.9ghz (which makes em amd 6000? w/o the extra cache). it was a 60$ chip, i got 2 of em, still wouldn't have been the price of one 64...

speedfan aversion?

i didn't see a sticky on speedfan and the first 3 pages didn't mention speedfan. do ppl want to have physical manual control over thier fans rather than a software based option?. is doing a basic 5v or 7v fix enough for some? my computer has variable uses on idle the fans are off, web browing and st...

well i did some research online i guess your power company charges by the khw(or kilowatt per hour) and i think my bill said it was anywhere from 8c to 9c per khw, i live in virginia if thats any indication. so if we're doing this by hours, and there are 720hrs in a month(roughly, 24*30) and my idle...

watts used from a 600w psu

i bought a watt monitoring device(18bucks) so i plugged in to my gf's pc(easier to reach the power plug) her computer is similar to mine 600w psu(some ultra x cheap thing) 1.9amd x2 oc'd to 2.9 2gb 1 320g drive 1 dvdr 8800gts so it reads in watts off-5 standby-8 idle-132 load-197 i mean i have all t...

i just built a rig w/ this cooler, i posted in the gallery section. http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=42376 about the cooler. i'm using 2 yate loons, that almost never turn on (speedfan, desired cpu temp 40). it's also an amd x2 1.9 overclocked to 2.9. i just lapped this heatsink(...

update, lapped HS and proc, idle is now 33c load is still 51c but wow lapping dropped idle temps by 7c is pretty huge, it's still oc'd btw, 33% from 1.9 to 2.9, fans never turn on =D bought 10$ svc lapping kit btw, w/ little glass plate free shipping came in 2days not bad. gonna lap 8800gts heatsink...

the cpu fans almost never turn on, i have everything controlled w/ speedfan now atm, and it runs at 45c idle (web browsing, minor office work) w/ only the ps fan on. this monster of a heatsink(gemini ii, i wouldn't even buy it , if it wasn't on special w/ a big rebate) performs pretty bad imo. how w...

yea that 80mm sunnon's been replaced w/ a 80mm artic cooling, tho i think i'll mod the case again and dremel out the space to fit in another 120 yate loon, since i already took out the drive cage area.
