There might be a slight difference, but certainly not as much as without the window. I'm not an expert at damping material, but I've got some against my case panel and it keeps the high tones out! Euh, in. With the case window I wouldn't spend money and time trying to dampen it. Plexi or aluminium? ...

Try switching between extreme values. (Just change one setting.) That way you'll notice the difference and the impact of one setting. I'd suppose you want to set the initial voltage to your fans starting voltage or a bit higher, cause that would be the minimum voltage the fans will always be receivi...

As for keeping your laptop quiet: I've done that by aiming a Nexus fan (powered from USB) at the back. Furthermore I've raised the laptop so it stands nearly vertical. Add a keyboard and a mouse and your done. So far for mobility though. I've got a Dell Inspiron 6400. Don't buy it. The fan spins on ...

I had a asus/ opteron combo with a Arctic freezer pro blowing up towards the psu intake fan. The fan died in less than a year. I couldnt find a replacement freezer pro fan so I mounted [wired]a ordinary fan in its place and turned the cooler so it was blowing out the back. No problems running 24/7 ...

You can cut the metal with a Dremel for example. Don't you need a HDD by the way? The VIA should easily be cooled with a single fan. Wasn't the power supply fanless (without the fan spinning) up to a wattage of 90W? So you probably could run it with one fan. And it doesn't have to be a 120mm, 80 wou...

Juding from the look of it and CM's less than brilliant rep its probably more of a design choice that theyve tried to justify later on. However, it may perform quite well with all those heatpipes and large surface area, but i dont think it'll trouble the top air coolers. Interesting stats: Six 6mm ...

The 4400+ should be more than fine. And with an Alpine 64 or 7 (the 7 is the same apart from the PWM fan) it should be very good. By the way, they also have a 64 PWM by now. The same as the 7, without an extra piece of plastic for Intel sockets. I've got a P150 (white SOLO) with an Alpine 7 and you ...

You could also take a look at this motherboard. It has integrated graphics and seems very good for a HTPC. It's an AMD motherboard and will need an AMD processor, so the total power will probably be less. But, it might also be a bit cheaper.
Take a look at the review and see for yourself.

As you could have seen here the minimum starting voltage of the 12L is 5.3V. Read it for more information. You could also try a Nexus or a Yate Loon (the same fan actually, except the Yate Loon runs a little faster). The Nexus won't start at 5V (minimum is 5.5V), but it's quiet at 7V. Or 9V. Or 12V....

Antec NSK1380 review
The Antec NSK1380 We all know Antec. The P150/Solo (now the Sonata Designer/Plus), the P180 and later on the 182. The NSK3480 and the 4480. But the NSK1380 is much well known. And much less used. Few notes: I don't have professionale equipment, so no noise statistics and no power recordings. All sou...

Only problem could be grounding. In the PSU, the ground-cable from your power point is mounted (with a screw) to your PSU-case. The PSU-case is mounted to the case, and the case is fully grounded. But if you put the PSU outside the case, the main case won't be grounded. Most of the time this isn't a...

I wouldn't recommend it. I also would not recommend removing the fan from your PSU. It would probably run too hot. With good PSU's, the fan is thermal controlled. With low power, the fan runs at minimum speed. Except if the air that gets into the PSU is hot. Then it'll run faster to keep the PSU coo...
