Re: I want a quiet 2.5" HDD
The Seagate ST500LM012 is actually a Samsung HN-M500MBB, it's even printed on the label of the HDD itself. Thanks. Does the label also say "Seagate" or is it the original Samsung label? Strangely both brand is printed on the label!! Seagate ST500LM012 is printed in bigger font, while below the Sams...

Re: Corsair Obsidian 550D Quiet Mid-Tower Case
Hi! Regarding Corsair Obsidian 550D, I have a question. If I don't want to use the side vent grills at the side panel and at the top, then the matching fillers, which are closing the holes, are included by factory with the case package? So if I want the ventilation come in only at front, and go out ...

Re: I want a quiet 2.5" HDD
Seagate Momentus SpinPoint M8 500GB (ST500LM012) (2.4 Bel) I'm confused because when I search for this model number I'm finding both Samsung and Seagate. Which is it, or is it both??? Yeah, it's both Samsung and Seagate because as CA_Steve said, Seagate purchased Samsung on HDD side. The Seagate ST...

Nice to know that someone else has replicated/verfied my findings! But sorry that you had to go through all that. I didn't e...

Re: I want a quiet 2.5" HDD
I have 2 kind of 500 GB single platter 2.5" disk: - Toshiba MQ01ABD050 500GB (17 dBA) - Seagate Momentus SpinPoint M8 500GB (ST500LM012) (2.4 Bel) The Toshiba MQ01ABD050 is definitely quieter compared to the Seagate ST500LM012 when talking about the idle hard disk spinning. Hi! Does anybody has some experience or feel, how the 3.5" WD Red 1TB compares to below 1-platter 2.5" drives, from noise perspective? I mean these: - WD Red 1TB WD10EFRX (3.5", 1 platter, spec says 21 dBA) - Toshiba MQ01ABD050 500GB (2.5", 1 platter, spec says 17 dBA) - Seagate Momentus SpinPoint M...

pm.stacker, very nice indeed!
I also use a D525 board as a headless NAS and torrent machine, but mine is Asus AT5NM10T-I, and OS is running on a simple USB2 pendrive. Mine is although in full ATX size case.

Hi! I have a new (LGA1155) Asus P8H77-M PRO motherboard and planning to use the Scythe Universal Retention Kit 3 for attaching a Ninja 2 (together with a Scythe SCCL4-1366 adapter). Re: building a SFF system for Linux
Thanks a lot for tips, Also here in Hungary the G530 costs indeed way less than the G620. Regarding the heatsink, I have a spare Scythe Mugen 2 Rev B, so cooling passively would be no problem, although it has a big size. :) Yes, I understand that D510/D525 Atoms are losing value when new Atoms comin...

Hi All, This gadget seems very useful indeed! Is this Kama Stay thing can accept other size fans (like 92 mm or 80 mm fans) also? OK!
Thanks a lot for answer for you all!
Then it's OK. The OEM packaging was just surprising because we didn't know that it is delivered as "bulk". I'm using 3 of the S12-II, and it came with all the fancy stuff.
Thanks a lot for infos. Then I'm not worrying anymore.

Hi! One of my friend just bought the Seasonic SS-400ET, and we are very much disappointed that it came without any packaging, no power chord, no screws, no user manual, nothing was given with the PSU. Just the PSU itself. I read above that this is an OEM PSU from Seasonic? Can you verify this? Regar...

It does have powerplay enabled and clocks down to 165MHz core and 250MHz memory. My original point was that like every other retail 4670, it doesn't drop the voltage at all like the reference one that SPCR reviewed. So it doesn't fully utilize power play. It uses just as little power as my HD3450 a...

@batka how about the new E5300 and E5400 models? Yeah they looks good for HTPC usage! E5300/5400 are half of the price of E8200/8400. E5300/5400 have even smaller Die size, and newer stepping, so they must draw very little power. Only thing that they have 2 MB L2 cache, and 800 MHz FSB, and they do...

Unless you're using a very high power chip (e.g. Pentium D), it should not be an issue. That's been my experience. I'll using a P4 Northwood 2.4 GHz in the Asus P4P800-E Deluxe (i865). Hi All, If I would use a Ninja 2 passively but with decent airflow in the case, will be the northbridge temperature cooled down properly?
