Re: SilverStone KL07: Perfect case?
Almost all of the motherboards I have seen recently have the HD audio connection in the lower left corner of the board so this should have been anticipated and designed for. Absolutely all cases have their front audio connectors placed in the front or top area, so the connector on the motherboard s...

Re: SilverStone KL07: Perfect case?
It can be solved that way, and I will do that if it ends up being an issue down the road, but it shouldn't be an issue to start with. Almost all of the motherboards I have seen recently have the HD audio connection in the lower left corner of the board so this should have been anticipated and design...

Re: SilverStone KL07: Perfect case?
Despite my dislike for the rear filter access I ended up getting one of these. I wanted either this or the Fractal Design Define C and the price, extra HDD mount, front USB-C, and including 3x 140mm fans pushed me to this one. First thoughts: this is significantly quieter than the P180 it replaces (...

Re: Power Supply Fan Orientation/Dust Control
Thanks Olle! Given that the Silverstone and the Corsair have separate HD/PSU compartments and a full front filter anyway, is there any downside to drawing air from the front of the case rather than the bottom of the case in this situation? I didn't get you... with reference to what? The dust buildup...

Power Supply Fan Orientation/Dust Control
I am working on building a new system using a Silverstone KL07, Fractal Design Define C, or Corsair 400Q case. All of these have a bottom intake with a filter for the PSU but only the Define C has the filter accessible from the front of the case. Due to the arrangement of my office, I will not have ...

A couple more reviews, in English this time: http://www.hardwareasylum.com/reviews/cases/sst_kl07 https://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/cases_cooling/silverstone_kublai_kl07_review/1 Personally, I really don't like the rear PSU filter access, I have the same problem with the Corsair 400Q and Phanteks ...

We got a slightly used (about 2 years old) Bosch dishwasher a couple years ago and love it (my Dad's boss was renovating and they went to stainless steel). We have not had any problems with it and it is fairly quiet, but not silent. Of course, we got a great deal on it, so it is fine for us. I am su...

If the round duct diameter is the same as the height/width of a square duct, there will be more pressure drop through the round duct just because of the extra area in the corners of the square duct. But you are right, there will be more turbulence (and maybe noise) because of the transition into the...

Hello David, I believe it is a Torx wrench: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article844-page3.html Torx wrenches technically are Alan/Hex keys...but not enough people really knew the difference, so they started calling it torx and just left it. There is a difference between them. Allen/Hex (they are t...

I have the Microsoft 4000 at home and love it, I brought my Microsoft "Natural Keyboard" from around 1995 to work. My thoughts are if you do much gaming or have any other reason where you will be doing 1 handed typing, don't get a split keyboard. I love them, but they make things a pain when typing ...

Thanks for forwarding this along! It is great to see you involved like this. Second, I've seen this comment many times before in other places. Many times it is simply that we shouldn't open up the top like that. From my own personal experience, I have to strongly disagree. If I were going to plug up...

Re: Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme
Just a comment about the review... Proprietary bent winglet design to minimize airflow resistance We'll take their word for it, but surely unbent fins are less restrictive... There are two things that the "bent winglet design" may do to reduce resistance or at least help performance. 1) Since the fa...

New Workstation (Whine)
I just got done building a semi-quiet home PC and today I just got a new workstation at work for use as a CAD machine. E6700 4 GB RAM nVidia Quadro FX 1500 (256 MB) 150 GB Raptor I am so very glad when I built my home PC that I skipped the Raptor. The seeks are NOISY! The Quadra isn't too bad after ...

I happen to like the IP-35 Pro. But, from what I hear, all three are great. The Asus is the most liked "overclocking" board, the Gigabytes are the best "value", and the Abit is the "jack-of-all-trades" board in my opinion. Good overclocking, cheaper than the Asus, and has good options (including uGu...

Ultra 120
I have the Tuniq and should have gotten the U-120 for silence purposes. The Tuniq has to be way down to be "quiet enough", I can't turn it down enough to be silent using the fan and controller they provide. I have seen several recommendations about not changing the fan because of pressure drop too, ...
