I think this is safe but i am not sure... if it was a 3.5" drive i would def be concerned just beca...

socket a is so very very noisy (ideas?)
so i decided to use some old comoputer parts and build a quiet(hopefully silent) pc. For now it has a wd2500 hard drive which is loud but will be replaced with a 2.5" fujitsu most likely and a ultra psu which is loud and will also be replaced ----> http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?...

does anyone know where I can find a psu like this one?
http://www.silverstonetek.com/images/products/lc19/lc19-v5.jpg Or something that would work for the setup below. maybe a small case with an external psu(needs to be silent tho) if such a thing exists. It is from an lc19... It just needs to power the mobo(m7ncg 44 biostar)/cpu(amd 3000+) one hd and ...

I am fine with cutting out the fan grill but a passive heatsink scares me... Correct me if I am wrong about this... (In a very quiet room) My HD is 2.6 bels which is 26db.(I think) I can barley hear it when psu and cpu fans are stopped. Fans like nexus 120 run around 22db so even with 2 of them it w...

yeah I guess I think I will go with one of the thermalright ones and a nexus 120mm on the HS and maybe another on for exhaust. I might just get like 2 or three 120s that have the best cfm i can find and put them on an external switch for when i have my cpu under load. i dont know, I just bought the ...

Im not really worried about the size of the heatsink but its effectiveness. I dont wnt high temps when running a quiet (which will probably mean a lower CFM) fan. Hell, if I could mount a quiet fan on my stock heatsink and it would stay cool I would but I dont think there is any way to mount one w/o...

I hate how loud my comp is... have wd caviar that is so loud... louder than anything else in the case. think ill get a scorpio to replace it. other than that the only fan (minus the 0dba psu which i cant hear unless the hd and cpu fan are off) is the cpu fan. it seems a little noisy for my taste. st...

western digital caviar is DRIVING me crazy.... funny right?
Ok, so my 250 gig caviar from at least 3 years ago but could be more is the loudest thing in my computer by far. i just built a new comp that has a 0dba psu passive colled vid card and the stock cpu is the only fan that runs. it reuns cool and quiet but the hd is too damn loud. I mounted it using bu...
