Just curious, but did you notice any improvement from adding the BE QUIET insulation material? What I've noticed with the Antec P18x cases is that it's sturdy enough not to have any vibration problems, so that makes case damping material not quite as effective. Well, I must say I didn't listen to i...

Hi, well the skin is called "purevision" and the version of mediaportal is V1.0 RC2.0. It does require some tweaking though. Well, you have to install the separate emulator programs like mame, zsnes, project64.... and then you will have to install the "myemulator plugin" and configure everything (= ...

Microsoft MCE Remote for controlling the OC
Playstation controllers for the games (emulators)

Exhaust fan is slighty "louder". Actually you can't hear them..
Both exhaust fans are connected to the motherboard; 1 to the CPU fan header and the other one to the SYS fan header.

Justchill's HTPC Build (NSK2480)

Hi guys, It's been a while, how are y'all doin' ? 8) After my first showcase: http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=45857 I'm now showing my silent HTPC project. The main goal was to create a very silent, decent and as cheap as possible HTPC. I mainly use my HTPC for watching movies, ...

You say: I had an NSK-2480 build that I initially wanted to use for HD DVD/BD and found that my X1650XT wouldn't accelerate the video and the CPU was almost maxed during movies. that is another thing then playing crysis my friend. The 9600GT is a good choice for games. For HD playback only I would h...

hi,

great build, very good cable management; I will copy that!

Some remarks:

- the hardware could be chosen better
- Only 1 harddrive, what if you need more space to store movies etc..
- GPU is way too powerful, inless you want to play games

True... If you want to go beyond the 3.0Ghz limit, you will have to increase Vcore (alot). The chip can do 3.6Ghz.. but with a high Vcore and generating more heat. It's a great chip for it's price however! I've bought it second hand for 40€..

Great pics! I love when people post their setups! However.. 2 bad you didn't research more about HTPC hardware.. Your hardware is a little overkill and you could easily done it cheaper / better. Why intel btw? What PSU did you use? What software are you using? And why is the WLAN for? Streaming at W...

Hi,

thanks for your reply.

What is the grey/silver-coloured tapeg you've put around the hole?
Why did you do that?
It looks like aluminium foil.

Now you're all back able to watch the web-album.

Well this CPU gets really hot when you overclock it >3.0Ghz.

So I have to increase the fan speeds ofcourse.

Full load temp: 57C
Idle temp: 29C

Did you find the Yate Loons @ 12v quieter than Antec tricools on low? No.. really the yateloons @12V are really not "quiet". They are not extra loud, but you can hear them blow. The tricools at low are quiet, but they do not move much air. My advice: get silent fans with a fancontroller. Zalman rea...
