Meivo all-in-one HTPC
I spotted this case while searching for something altogether different. It's no longer a really flat screen, but there's no case. Could be just what you need for a lasy build. The company site: http://www.meivo.tv/ The review: http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/110696/rock-meivo.html Naturally, everythi...

Exhaust ducting opinions
I plan to construct a duct from two 80mm fans to the CPU heatsink (a Minja). This, however, would leave the rather hot motherboard (an Asus M2N32 SLI Deluxe) without much of it's airflow. To work around this I plan to duct the top half of each fan to the CPU heatsink, and duct the bottom half downwa...

Just to tie this post up, I've opted for the fanless Ninja Mini option. I'll be flipping the PSU, both because its quiet and because I can use the airflow in an otherwise neglected part of the case. If the 2x8 & 1x12 exhausts don't suffice, there's a backup duckting plan targetting both the CPU & 86...

Thnx MikeC. I'll be sure to either use it, or plug it. Just did a bit more research. The Ultima-90 can only be mounted to blow left to right on the Asus M2N32 Sli Deluxe. So, from the first post, that leaves the 'left to right' and the 'top down' configurations. I'm starting to dislike the 'top down...

Hi JoeWPgH, Thnx for the post : ) > I think I saw a post here on SPCR that mentioned doing the same thing. Might that have been you? Think I'll have a go at rotating the PSU. Sound easy to do and to reverse. Noise reduction by putting the fan inside the case is enough reason to have a go. Ramping-up...

HTPC Airflow - 3 options, 1 build
Most of the parts & pieces for my HTPC have been decided on. However, after the article on the LC17 & GD01, I reconsidered the initial cooling plan. The important bits for the build, cooling-wise are: - Case: Silverstone LC16m - 2 80mm rear exhaust fans; optional: 2 92mm HDD bay fans & 1x 80mm side ...

I rebuilt my HTPC a couple of months ago using the other sibling of those two cases, the LC20B. Same base chassis, different bezel. The heatsinks you used are not the best choices for use in the case. I went with the Thermalright Ultra-90 (soon swapping for an Ultima-90), as that unit allows the fa...

I also found the picture with the Minja mounted on a M2N32 Sli Deluxe very interesting. After some research, I had concluded there would be clearance issues with the Minja and the motherboard heatsinks. Did you have any trouble with those heatsinks when installing the Minja? No problem at all. Swee...

Thnx for the review Mike. I've been working on a LC16mr build and your article on the LC17 & GD01 has been a great help. Seems like a number of Silverstone cases differ only in bezel and drive arrangement. I also found the picture with the Minja mounted on a M2N32 Sli Deluxe very interesting. After ...

Just did a quick check and found:

You might do some googling, just to make sure.
I found some posts in dutch that mentioned a AMD BE might do the job, but nothing was confirmed.

I assembled this system before the Ninja Mini became available. If it had been available, I would have seriously considered it. I'm surprised that it won't fit. It will fit the case. I discovered there would be clearance issues with the motherboard heatsinks. It's definitely audible from several fe...

To help keep the temps down, you could consider this one: - CPU: AMD Athlon X2 BE-2400 - 45W, Dual Core. Depends on what you'll be using the pc for I'd say. On passive cards, here are some I looked into. - GFX Sparkle SF-PX86GTS256D3-HM Cool-pipe II - Zalman VNF100 cooler, my current estimate is 115...

Boy, I've been away for too long. Corsair makes PSU's now? I'm getting too old for this. I believe it's an undercover Seasonic, with a fan mod. Any comments on how this will run under linux? I'm not familiar with most of your component, but I'd settle for a less powerfull CPU. Cost and expected load are the considerations here.
What about the AMD Athlon X2 BE-2400
It's about 10% cheaper, although it doesn't offer the 'Black Edition' overclocking features (AFAIK).

Thanks truckman I must say, 40C sounds like a very nice CPU temperature. A quick comparison showned your 'BTF90' to be cooler at low speed then the 'SP 128'. So, with a hot GFX, I'd expect to run at 50C during summer. I'll look into the clearance issues between the HSF and the case. Tricky little th...

Advice on: Silverstone LC16m Build
I've been working on these system specs for a while now. I'd appreciate any advice you might have on this build. The goals of this build are: - A nice looking HTPC for in the living room. - Energy efficiency, as it'll be switched on (asleep) 24/7. - As silent as I can get, given the desired performa...

Well designed Heat Sink (there's a review of it here on SilenPCReview). PSU: - Corsair Quitest PSU I c...
