one, 120mm exhaust at the back to blow out the hot air in the case should do fine. sometimes putting in too much fans can have a negative effect, as they could be blowing about air everywhere, disrupting a clean flow of air through the case.

my x1950pro required 32amps on the 12v (as listed on the ati website), im pretty sure the 3870 will be around that level also. also had rebooting troubles when i first tried to load up games with my x1950pro when i had a 400w, 14amps on the 12v psu. Changed to a 36A on the 12V rail psu after :). smo...

just replace all ur fans in the armor with quiet ones (ie. nexus), then there wont be any sound (or much of it) to escape in the first place! (assuming you have other quiet things, i.e. quiet cpu cooler, quiet vga cooler, quiet harddrive...etc)

great, i think i will go with my desired case then. will definately change the stock 80mm fan to a 120mm nexus, maybe add an extra nexus at the front of the case for a better airflow. also might have to do something about the harddrive bay if rubber grommets etc arent included. thanks for ur comment

Is the p150/p180/p182/solo...etc necessary for a quiet pc?

Hey guys, im a bit confused here. On one hand, im really liking the looks of the Asus VENTO TA-915 case (plus its cheap price!), however I see these forums filled with the antec p150/p180/p182/solo...etc cases. I was wondering if those cases were vital for a silent pc? Im planning to replace the sin...

antec p180/182 and the 12V CPU power line

Hey guys, what should the length of the 12v cpu power line be on any power supply for it to be nice and loose (and able to be routed behind the motherboard) for the antec p180/182. thanks in advance. or...what is the length of the 12v cpu power cable on the corsair hx520? (as the hx520 cable lengths...

that shuld be all good to go, although i'd get a separate VGA cooler for that 8800gts, as graphic cards tend to get very loud. (even when idle)

i think it is quite a must, from my experience, the power supply and graphics card (especially the high end, gaming graphics card) produce the most noise. cheers.

despite the average loudness, non-recommended powersupply, do you think all the other modifications such as a 3rd party cpu /gpu cooler, antec p180...quiet spinpoint harddrive do the trick? im not aiming for dead silence here, just want to be able to sleep with the pc on approx 2.5metres away

cheers
