Hey F, What I don't understand either is why Raskol experiences that the VX450W is the noisiest component in his system, or is your PC pushing the VX450W beyond 250W DC output, which would cause a sharp increase of the amount of dBA produced according to SPCR's review? At 22 dBA for example, shouldn...

Fan Swap for Corsair VX 450
Being a relative noob, I want to ask the forum's advice for a good fan to use in place of the stock ADDA in a Corsair VX 450. I have searched around, and had a hard time finding guidelines about what fan speeds work well, etc. Any advice would be much appreciated! This is the noisiest part of my sys...

BIOS Does Not Read Mobo Fan Speed. Please Help!
Hi all, In the past couple weeks the fan speeds from my mobo have become unreadable from BIOS or other software. I'm sure the problem is my own stupidity, but maybe there's something I can do. I have been playing a lot with locating sources of noise in my PC. In so doing, I have simply unplugged the...

I just spent $1.50 on round elastic at a fabric store and strung up two parallel webs where my HDD cage used to be. I attached some unused motherboard screws to the HDD, slid the HDD between the webs, and looped the peripheral strands of each web around the posts to hold the HDD in place both vertic...

Thanks all, but I think I've found the source. And I owe an apology to Corsair as well, for claiming their PSU was noisy. After reading about HDD suspension I decided to give it a go. Holy cow what a difference. Apparently, the whine had to do with resonance from the mounted HDD reaching the area ar...

Yes, it's possible the PSU is faulty. But I've already RMA'd one that had a noticeable high-pitch chirp that occurred every time the HDD was accessed during boot. So I am loath to RMA a second PSU because of the hassle. Those VX 450s have a good rep, so I am now questioning whether I am just being t...

Noisy 450VX, Hypersensitivity, & Other Thoughts [solved]
Hi all, This is my first post after much reading and I want to thank everyone on this board for their collective thoughts. I recently completed my first build, and found it too noisy. So I have been trying to silence it bit by bit. Here's my current system for some background: * E6750 with undervolt...
