....Also worth noticing: dropping GPU frequency doesn't affect idle power consumption or temperature at all with HD 4870, so I don't know what the current "PowerPlay" is supposed to do... Same with my His HD4850. No effect reducing the frequency from 500 to 200 or even 160. Though, if i put the fre...

What's strange about this PSU is that the maximum efficiency is at 20%, and presumably is higher under 20% of nominal power. Similar efficiency graphs are present at Dell F255E-00 and H255E-00 . Maybe is a new technology, similar with digital PWM on some mainboards. I want a photo with internals.......

The 8.7 driver is out, and power-play is not working properly.
The temperatures are the same and the power consumption from the wall remain the same :(

Some power consumption are here: http://techreport.com/articles.x/14500/5 , indeed D2X is hungry. My Philips DVDR1660P died (problem recognizing disks), and i replaced with a Samsung SH-202H . I was curious about power consumption at idle, and using a multimeter obtained these results: Philips DVDR1660P : on 5V 0.46A ; on 12V 0.7mA Samsung SH-202H : on 5V 0.8mA ; on 12V 0.2mA So the Philips cons...

Nice air path in that case. :) I see on the metal plate in front where are two 12cm fans, it have holes, and the air is escaping without cooling any components. I suggest some duct tape to block the air. The wires for front panel could use one hole, not two, in idea to obstruct one more hole. If it ...

Yep, 5 fans. And 3 HDD is needed for movies, they are big and don't fit on 4.7 or 8.5GB optical media. On temporal basis, the noisiest is the power source, but only in games, and the seek noise of a Maxtor 500GB hdd. The offenders on permanent function is the 12cm fan on top of the case and the HP L...
