I suppose you could chekc the big stickied topic way up in the list ;) Find one with positive remarks and see if its still available. Monitors tend to have a lifecycle of less then 1,5 years. 400 (eurobucks) is about the minimum you may expect for a good, silent 24". If your are happy with a TN you ...

I have thought about that and tried testing it by inserting some paper in various locations around fan and card and watching how it reacted. Visually I saw no difference. Mesuring I found that It at least provides some benefit because it took about 1/3 longer to reach 97 degrees. I havent tried reve...

not a chance mate. Im running a sapphire 4870 1gb with S1. The airstream in the case is high (that is for a quiet computer). I tinkered around with it last night (I reseated the core cooling on artic silver vs standard compound before and adjusted some of the heatsinks for the mem) It has 2 nexus 92...

I consider my computer to be quiet (not silent) and have no negative issues with tri-cools on low. I have two of the tri-cools standard in a P180b connected and on low. At ~1,5 m (floor at the side of desk to my ear) I dont hear any fan specific noises. (other sound sources 4 suspended 1tb samsung f...

LG L245WP-BN 24" PVA panel I generally have a setting between 30 and 35% brightness through monitor controls. No whine whatsoever with the possible exception of brightness about 70%. This however so much bordering on non-presence I sometimes doubt whether is really there (and I have REALLY sensitive...

I'll add my voice to the (quiet!) chorus. Nice to see the chamber's done. Nice we'll be seeing new reviews too ;). Oh and Mike, there is lots of us quiet-freaks out there but usually we are not heard from a lot (sic!). I'll be doing a new quiet (I dare not say silent) build somewhere in october and ...

p180 - bottom cage problem AND solution
This is not strictly a quiteting problem or solution, but I ran into it with my p180b. Since its a much used case here I thought I'd share it. The problem will most likely exist only for people who keep the PSU "duct" fan in place and use non-sata drives in in bottom cage. (My system is currently qu...

Hey, First post for an ancient lurker on these boards :). I'm thinking about a similar setup for my next computer. I do unfortunately have expansion cards I need to fit in. Would it be possible for you to put a fan on the upper drive bay and none on the s1 and see how that airflow works out and repo...
