I mean, she was gorgeous, why go and have the surgeries?

I have heard this as well. This is why some reviews have bad reviews of 5750's at idle, so the rumor goes. Considering the massive, useless cost of having 3 screens both A) in possession and B) on burning a couple of hundred watts, I dont think anyone cares about the 10 watts excess of idle from th...

Really tempted to buy F3 1TB. Afterall it offers near Velociraptor performance in most tests!

Samsung drives have ok idle and seek noises for my taste, but idle vibrations are driving me nuts. No room to suspend in my case.

Me too, me too! So far I'm happy with the 4770 but I'm looking at 5770 for my next upgrade - when prices get a little friendlier, that is. And also would like to use my already hacked S1 with the new card. If you could also measure the position of the GPU and mounting holes that would be v helpful,...

Oh, and I was eager to use included VRM radiators, but found out that even after hours of gaming VRM chips get barely warm. There is some airflow over them from L2 in my case
So I skipped those. Memory radiators on other hand get quite hot

5770 has 4-pin PWM header and so does L2 It defaults to 35%, roughly 1300rpm The most I 've seen it spin up was 41% at 55C. At load with overclock. Not obtrusive at all, easily quieter than stock cooling at idle. Didn't try to limit it yet. But far spaced fins tell me it should work with slowed down...

No, the gpu is too close to PCI bracket so S1 won't fit without heavy modding.
But go for 5850 instead. I would.

coreyography
I'm on Arch and 64bit, and ATI drivers don't give me any trouble.
I run some 32bit apps like Wine.

The fact that ATI drivers are not perfect or do not even comply to standarts is pointed out that catalyst is maintained only in user repository, not official one.

Windows 7 improved on Vista and XP... Well it just proves that MS products are generally crap to begin with. That said, I use Win7 for gaming now. Yippie, it handles video card driver crashes silently with just a short black screen and resumes gameplay. But hey, such crashes occur 4 times more often...

ATI closed drivers are quite ok. Necessary to have full 3d support and power management features atm.
They do lack some major features (I can't get fast composition to work or video acceleration), but all-in-all its quite good.

Also I believe that SP3 installation file is hidden somewhere in /Windows
