Re: Amd 5670 or 5770
I just bought a HD5770 for a Christmas present computer. More precisely it's a XFX HD5770 single slot version. Pleasantly surprised about it. Stays at 70-73C under 60% fan speed which isn't really loud at all in furmark. (though rest of computer isn't really 'quiet') I think you should go for the HD...

Re: Seeking silence for a 500$ computer as we spend extra ~2
Just a update. We ordered and got the delivery. Sadly we went with only getting the graphics card and two 120mm Nexus fans. Damn was it a tight fit to place the two 120mm fans in the front of the Ecco 220. Took quite a while to get them there using the rubber mounts. I was quite surprised by the low...

Re: Seeking silence for a 500$ computer as we spend extra ~2
There is a little price premium with VAT/TAX here. The XFX HD5770 single slot I've listed is the cheapest HD5770 I could find unless it was on a dubious site. 1159kr... many others HD5770 cost 100kr or more. Second cheapest is the XFX HD5770 with dual slot cooler. for 1191kr. The fanless gigabyte mo...

Re: Seeking silence for a 500$ computer as we spend extra ~2
Sadly the Scythe Mugen 2 rev. B available on the same place costs 418kr about 60% more than the hyper 212 plus. It would mean we would not get a single extra chassis fan with the graphics card. Mugen 2 seems overkill as well. Requirements are that the cooler should be able to cool the Athlon II X3 4...

Re: Seeking silence for a 500$ computer as we spend extra ~2
Ok shortly after I found out someone put the Hyper 212 plus into the Ace Ecco 220. It fits just by a hair. So it's a option once again. I looked at other coolers and found the Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev.2 as a alternative in same price range. But it will be in the wrong orientation for the chas...

Seeking silence for a 500$ computer as we spend extra ~220$
Hi all, silent peers! I want a little advice on what to spend some about 220$ or precisely about ~1500kr. (Swedish currency) On this computer I and my older brother are building for his son as a Christmas present. We have already bought hardware for about a worth of 500$ or 3500kr. The parts we have...

Re: undervolting Athlon X3 450, Asus M4A785T-M,
I thought I would do the same thing with this computer. But I have no idea on what are some guidelines on safe voltages for a Athlon X3 450. This is what I get on an X4 605e : it's not what you may need, but hope it may still help a bit. Thanks I checked it out. Your 3Ghz overclock and voltage seem...

undervolting Athlon X3 450, Asus M4A785T-M,
Hi all. I've just built a computer for my brother who will give it as a present to his son as a Christmas present. I'm tasked in getting it into "perfect" condition so to say. I want to fix it up as well as possible for him. His budget was constrained so it's a cheap computer but it's decent things ...

I have a Lian Li PC-A01B. Looking at it and this case I see design similarities. Competing against themselves? I'm not so sure. Lian Li doesn't produce something directed at what the Fractal is completely. The closest things are the mini-itx Q07&Q08. Q08 being the closest contender. But the Q08 is s...

No one notice the build design quirks and hints? Doesn't it look like it's made by Lian Li somehow? Materials and design solutions etc? It quite simply screams like a cheaper Lian Li. I quite surely would bet that Fractal is ordering this from Lian Li factories to be made. There is even a "Made in T...

I'm currently looking into some 60mm fans to have as chassis fans in my chassis. I have two contenders to choose between. The Scythe Mini Kaze 60x60x20mm or the Fractal Design 60x60x25mm. I changed my mind on the graphics card and the place where I'm going to order from and this place has the Nexus 80mm. Though the Y-adapters and Nexus 120mm are more costly. On another hand I tried the 70x70x10mm delta fan whit the 12->7v zalman adapter I had and it spins at decent 2500rpm. It's more...

Looking for some fan recommendations and setup help
Hi all. I would need a little help picking the right fans and wires and adaptors/resistors to get my computer cooler and more silent. I have a Lian Li PC-A01 chassis. I've crammed inside a Phenom X4 9750 125watt cpu and 3hdd's, otherwise I use a 780G graphics OC@800Mhz. 2xSeagate 7200.10 320gb and a...
