That's quite a claim.
Yes it is, if someone can send me any GTX970 or 980 and his config with PSU/mobo that has 0 coil whine above 300/400FPS I will pay 4x the card :-)

Re: New PSU time!

EVGA partner with Superflower is netting some of the best PSU in the market. For the US was harder to get holds on Superflower PSUs, specially their Leadex Platinium, but all this changing with the EVGA P2, and the 650/750/850 are almost as small as seasonics 160mm, just 5mm more. Their 1200W is th...

Re: Choosing between a Geforce GTX 970 and 980

The coil whine is an odd one. On the one hand I've seen a thread where a setup with 2x Strix 970s resulted in one perfectly quiet card and one with modest coil whine. On the other hand, I've also read a post where someone has gone through 4 different cards from 3 manufacturers (EVGA/MSI/Gigabyte) i...

Re: New PSU

I will probably never get to a load/temp where my EVGA 1000 P2 turns its fan on and even than its gonna start really low RPM (around 500w I found on https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EVGA/SuperNOVA_P2_1000/6.html ), and if I may believe that curve it starts almost on 300/400 RPM. I have been think...

Re: Asus GTX970 STRIX

I have the MSI GTX 970 , it is going back for bad coil whine. Just orderd a MSI GTX980 because I want to see if it suffers from the same amount. As pointed out also in the topic from bbalex his 980 cards did not have problems but the 970's had.. so we will see. I am ok with the little more powerdraw...

Yes I know, but why would I want that :D I rather have no noise than noise :p It runs nice now with the eco mode on, fan does not turn on. The EVGA is worth every penny. I hoped to be able to same the same about the 970.... Actually, I'd prefer the fan to run all the time if it's quiet, and I expec...

I think these are already in the normal cables of EVGA? I am going to return this MSI GTX 970 anyway, and will get a credit note from distri instantly. But the question ofcourse is what to take, there is no difference in asus or msi in coilwhine. All I can find is that the GTX980 might have less, bu...

120mm fan PWM black recommends

Hey, I am doing some work arounds in my build and looking for a 120mm black pwm fan for my noctua u12s, anyone can recommend something? I had the scythe PWM in the past but all have some clicking noise. For exhaust I currently have thermalright-x 140mm fans on low RPM (they are great). Also did some...

Yeah going to check in the Fractal R5 if it fits before ordering. It seems to fit perfect seeing some builds with it. Well now that I have seen the EVGA P2 1000, I am hooked on it and will take the white sleeved cables with it I think. Seeing the techpowerup review, with my specs the fan should never turn on ? I5 4690 , Asus Hero, 16GB Corsair ram, MSI Gaming GTX970, Superflower Golden king platinum 550w, 256GB ssd, Fractal R5, Noctua U12s. For fan setup, I tested a fair amount ...

Re: Need some help new fans for new build.

I got some redux PWM fans also, after te AF140 I was kinda scared to test these but damn. So far I tested the antec quiet 140mm and the noctua redux 140MM 1200RPM pwm , and I must say I havent heard any bettr fan than this. I have set them up from 300 to around 500rpm curve just for a fast test, and...

Re: Need some help new fans for new build.

Abula, a question I now have tested the antec true quiets 140MM and I really do like them up to 500RPM. Anything more in my R5 at night is actually quiet hearable but I dont need more cooling than that so its no problem. I was just wondering if you have compared them to the Ultra Sleek vortex 140MM ...

Ok thank you for the info. Previously ive Always builded my new machines with the Fractal Mini, and to be hounest I kinda regret this time not doing it I think. Re: Need some help new fans for new build.

Ok I orderd and got them, I will do some tests ton8 with both the noctua's again and the Antec.

I have a noctua u12s and I5 4690, any advice on what temps I should be aiming for while I try to tune down my fans? For now it gets to like 60° and stays there steady with fans around 500/600RPM on load.

Ok so I tried 2 noctua nf-A14 fans, don't like it all. At like 500RPM they make this sort of humming noise dont know especially in the rear. I got a noctua nf-f12 on my cpu cooler that comes standard with the noctua u12s, I kinda like that one its really nice. But I really dont know anymore what to ...

Okay thanks guys for the input. I decided I will do this: Going to stick to the CPU fan that comes with the Noctua U12S . Going to order 2x Noctua NF-A14 PWM (one for exhaust and one for intake blowing onto the GPU). I don't want to use 2x intake as I think its overkill (only have SSD anyway, no dat...

Hey, I should have told I tried the default stock case fans and did not like at all (using them currently). I Always used scythe in the past or noctua.
