Re: Quietest mid-range card

My Gigabyte 660 Windforce (note: non-ti) is pretty damned quiet. When you boot up, the fans default to 50% speed, but once you get into windows, they drop down to 30% speed, about 900RPM from what I can deduce. Completely inaudible to me unless I have my ear right up to the graphics card, or if I ga...

I like the flexibility of the HDD bays... very impressed with the unit overall. Kind of "Fractal Design... but different." I like it.

Lian-Li A-55 - Looks really nice, but...

Howdy folks, long time reader, sporadic poster. I was flicking through the Lian-Li website this evening, and came across this chassis, the A-55. It seems to be Lian-Li's interpretation of Silverstone's successful "stack cooling", with fans along the top and bottom of the case, and the PSU and HDDs m...

Re: Zalman Z9 Plus ATX Tower Case

I don't really believe you should have "Ugly" in the cons section, it comes across as rather unprofessional. I actually find the case decent looking, if bordering on the gaudy side, and it certainly looks better than a fair few of the "gaming" style cases out there. If anything, I think the review s...

Re: Silverstone Fortress FT-03 and Raven 3

Well, I like the direction Silverstone's designers are taking with this generation of cases, but to go along with the crowd here, Yes, the RV03 looks a bit... garish, to say the least.
Regarding the FT03 however, I'm smitten. I'll be purchasing one in the next few weeks.

Having owned a P180 mini, I can safely say that I was glad to be rid of it. Zalman MS1000-HS1 -- Thoughts?

Today I was searching around online looking for a quiet, elegant, simple case to use for an upcoming build. There is of course the ubiquitous Antec Performance One series of cases, but I want something different. Whilst flicking through the selection at FrozenCPU, I came across this; Zalman MS1000-H...

Freaking awesome, and I'm not normally into heavy electronica / dance / whatever, but I cannot help but headbang and make a general fool of myself when I play them.

Hmm, its one thing to be quiet, but if the noise character is that bad, I wouldn't want a customer to suffer with it. Still, I'll probably get one for the "lab" to have a play with, and see how we go from there.

Cheers,

It's possible you got a dud fan, happens from time to time. I live near-ish a major road, and the general background noise ...
