Case Fan Controller Confusion

Setup : Antec NSK2480 case with stock case fans (2x120mm) and Corsair vx450w PSU (the original failed). I'm new to this side of things so so is probably a dumb question, the NSK Manual referred to plugging the case fans into a fan controller - is this some sort of extra device or is it a standard pa...

ps. I see page 2 of the NSK2480 review mentions 120m fan PSU's going in upside down so I guess that's the correct way to do it,

Corais vx450W in a NSK2480 Case - orientation?

The power supply on my NSK2480 case has failed so I'm replacing it with the aforementioned corsair and I'm wondering which way up I should put it. According to this sites review and the lettering on the corsair it should go in with the fan underneath. However the NSK2480 has *no* vents there and its...

Definitely the PSU - put in a borrowed ThermalTake 430 and the interference has vanished, perfect reception. Will see how it runs over night.

Thanks for the help,

cheer - Lindsay

Would a Antec ATX EarthWatts 430W do? I've been quite happy with the quietness of the existing EarthWatts 380W

Thanks jaganath, it does look pretty suspect. When it first started happening I was worried the mobo was suffering from blown caps but I haven't been able to find any on the board. I'll borrow a PSU from work and do a swap to test it. Have never changed a PSU before, is there much to it? Thanks, Lin...

p.p.s :)

The interference is on one channel only and is across all tuners - the TV's built in one and the other PVR (Topfield) I have. Occurs even when the HTPC is completely disconnected except for its power cable.

NSK2480B Interfering badly with TV Signal

I've put together a HTPC solution using a NSK2480 case. Unfortunately when I switch it on the digital signal to the TV (and tuners) is badly degraded on one channel, to the point of being completely unviewable. Its definitely the HTPC - have moved it away while plugged in on a extension cord and the...

Why do you want to add a 2.5" drive there anyway? used up the existing bays?

Perhaps a external USB enclosure would be easier?

Not to hijack as I have been thinking of stacking a couple of these cases themselves. What I was also wondering is if there is room to somehow mount a 2.5" drive above the power supply? It looks like there might be but it's hard to tell for sure. I really doubt it, there's no racks for it to sit th...

Thanks firetech, I'll check it out.

Have problems with the poxy box just randomly switching itself off, like the power cable has been yanked. Sometimes seconds after startup so I'm pretty sure its not cooling problems.

Have posted in the Power supply forum on a related thread.

Crap, I'm getting this problem as too - Antec NSK2480 case, brand new, brought and assembled yesterday. And it keeps switching itself off - sometimes only a few seconds after it starts, sometimes after a few hours. It seems to get on a roll. Once its switches off it won't power up at all. If I leave...

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Trying to remember the linux cmd that gives all the PC info so I can double check it. Thanks for the Q-Fan tip! I enabled that and it made a huge difference, at least 50% less noise. CPU temp is hovering at 35c. I'm not sue about CnQ - would my ASUS Mobo have a bios setting for tha...

Thanks guys, I'm going to have to think about this one. I'd definitely prefer to go with the Ninja but don't know if I can wait to August - The current fan is just too loud and this device will live in the living room.

Postfix : I haven't been able to source one of these in Australia :( If anyone knows where I can get one, preferably in Brisbane.

Alternatively if anyone can recommend one from here (umart.com.au) that would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Lindsay

So looking fwd to getting this setup. Completely geeking out this weekend. Probably all end in tears though :)
