Re: New SPCR design & management
Well, that's a bummer... It looks like SPCRas we know it is gone. I haven't logged into the forum in years, but I still use the same super quiet machines I built many years ago, with some minor tweaks. Thanks to Mike C for all the work he put into the website and the forums over those many years. Go...

Re: [Completed Build] The Quiet King
Would it be possible for me to just buy a better fan for the power supply? I have two identical fans in my case, so the fan splitter works fine. You could. I replaced a noisy Enermax PSU fan 6 years ago with a slowed down 120mm noctua. Runs 24/7 and no problems so far. Some PSU used to have a safet...

Re: Why is Noctua NH-D15S so loud?
No way a Noctua fan at 600-800 rpm is unbearable noisy, unless it's faulty in some way. If so that "absolute piece of garbage" has 6 years warranty. ^ This If it's quiet at 30%, why don't you just leave it a 30%? The temps might not increase that much at full tilt. I used to play with speedfan and ...

Re: Antec Solo II + GTX 980Ti: any way to optimize thermalno
Hi ! My policy when trying to cool my case is to only direct the fresh air where it is needed the most. Everywhere else, with a negative pressure case, enough air sneaks through the cracks to be enough. In your setup, you want the cool air to flow in at the bottom as much as possible, where the GPU ...

Re: Can I use extra olive virgin oil to lubricate a CPU fan?
It'll work as a temporary solution. The olive oil will get sticky quickly, especially when heated, and you will end up with a bunch of goop in your fan. So for a few weeks, it'll work. Spend a few dollars and invest in a new fan in the meantime.

Re: Fan placement in Micro Custom PC Case (Brix)
Which fans are you planning to use ? The slim 92mm Noctua ?
They really don't push very much air... Using the regular size ones would almost double your airflow with the LNA and reduce your overall fan noise by 2dB (according to the spec sheet)

Re: Fan placement in Micro Custom PC Case (Brix)
I would try to avoid blowing hot air from the MB on the hard drive... Use just one exhaust first, and see what you end up with. If it's too hot, add an intake fan. I'd try this setup : {top of the case} with ventilation fan motherboard hard drive {bottom of the case} with ventilation Post pics when ...

1- Weather extremes and power outages: wood stove (heat and cooking), blankets, warm clothes, probably enough basic foods for a few days in the pantry. I live on a hill so flooding risk is low. 2- Yup. As much as possible. 3- see 1 There is also the risk you can do nothing about like a very exceptio...

Tested the new PSU today : all is working fine ! everything booted normally
Side note : I just noticed that the sleeving is burnt of 2 of the cables that came with the PSU... No damage to the cable themselves.
Trying to come up with a plan.

Something is being shipped back to be from Seasonic !!!!
Not sure what it is... I've gotten NO communication whatsoever from them. They got my PSU on Monday (they are closed on Saturday). Then today I get a shipping notification from FedEx saying a 4lbs package is being shipped to me.
