Re: SilverStone DS380 8-Bay Server/NAS Chassis
from what i can see is that it makes a very good platform for LAN or storage though i wish it included 2-4 more 3.5" internal bays the dual 120mm fan could potentially mean a dual rad or you could have a 7 drive + GPU for a gaming platform with the only thing holding back is the amount of sata ports...

Re: 65W TDP A10-5700 review
Has anyone tried using a A10 5800k and underclocking it to emulate a A10 5700? The 5700 is non existent in certain parts of the world and it definitely wont reach our shores. I was intending to get a 5700 in a ISK100 but due to availability i might just end up with an underclock + undervolt 5800k. I...

no thanks to triple slot cooler, GPU manufactures should look into making things smaller and more efficient rather then making a larger cooler to compensate with heat and noise.
GPU sizes are already getting out of hand, 2 slots and 10.5" should be the absolute maximum size for any GPU

what im dieing to find out is if the 5870 can operate semi passively with the S1 ie slap a S1 on it without any cooling fan and have a front intake 120mm fan blowing 1-2mm behind it basically i want to have a pair of 5870 in the SG03 and use its front intake as cooling fan At idle it would obviousl...

I've got a i7 920 and dual GTX260 in a SG03 the i7 can be cooled by the corsair H50 with a slow spinning fan for mine @3.2ghz, i used a artic PWM fan and it barely spins past 500rpm so its effectively silent I would suggest a blowhole or slot cooler at the top of the case to prevent heat build up it...

Just curious, how is a SLI 260 in terms of noise? not bad at all, well i have the stock fans at 25% and they dont spin up untill i game and even then it manages the temps well still i have very sensitive hearing so i still hear them as the rest of my system is silent and only at night, during the d...

hmm so you think a single 120mm rad is okish... well i can fit a 240mm rad provided its not much thicker then 25mm(black ice pro, if i can get that in australia) but then i've to sacrifice graphics card cooling and i cant place a fan on the bottom half of the rad i'd be happy if it can cool like a T...

this got me thinking about just mounting a 120mm fan to replace the dual fan or installing a HR03 while keeping the stock VRM/ram sinks on

i can get gainward/palit dual fan ones in australia from PC case gear but im not willing to be a guinea pig i did think of getting a HR03 but they dont bundled 55nm VRM sinks( its going to be hard to source a shop that stock these) and im not confident that the accelero xtreme gtx would be SPCR sile...

well ignoring air flow, i doubt i'd be able to even place a fan on the lower half of the double 120mm grill after using the "xtreme" on a GTX260. the main thing is that if it even fits in the case besides the "xtreme" has its own fans to pull air through it. im not sure the S1 would even fit in a 55...

just wondering if the accelero gtx extreme or the HR03 GTX would fit in an SG03 case on a GTX 260 and if so what are the conditions to make it fit

well its true that cooling a HD4850 is much easier but it doesnt fit my graphics requirements the CPU is right next to the monitor which also means its close to my head and the noisy fans are kinda killing me(hard drives are bad enough) well im not sure about the 3+2phase or 4+2 phase power, it all ...

im thinking with a 120mm fan just inches away from the card should give me enough air flow to cool the card the twin turbo might be a bit too loud for my liking (anyone know how loud it is at around 30cm away from the case?) ultimately i'd like my system to be as silent as possible and reducing the ...

passive cooled HD4870?
Hi, I kinda grew tired of waiting for decent coolers for the GTX200 series cards so im thinking of a passive cooled HD4870 with accelero S1 in a SG03 case.
Is it plausible and has anyone tried it?
thanks

the sad part is that im using a SG03 case that kinda requires you to use the NT06 cooler which means no wrap around for me with the HR03-GTX taking up 3 PCI slots(without fan), thats all my PCI slots available(since most mATX boards have their PCIe 16x on the second slot) and i cant install a fan im...
