thanks for the update. You can probably get better temps if you reduce the amount of thermal paste you use.Rikardo wrote:Posted some photos and edited my last post. I have a feeling that this can be quite quiet

well I received Scythe Kama 120mm and 92mm PWM fans (one of each) and installed them in my Acer server. The 120mm fan is nice and quiet, but without the aid of speedfan it doesn't spin fast enough and the server errors because the fan is spinning too slow. It also doesn't move enough air to adequate...

Is there a US source for the Akasa APACHE Fan (AK-FN057)? Google is just coming up with UK sources for the fan. The US distributors on the Akasa web site don't seem carry this particular fan. As an alternative, a UK site which ships to the US without too much hassle would be useful as well. Thanks....

I don't think yours is running Windows Home Server is it? I think I saw your thread on WGS and I don't think they know how to help you (not sure I do either) as you have a different version than I do and I the product link you posted doesn't load for me anymore. I think you got the old version. Can ...

You should be able to do 99% of everything via the console, which once you install the software on the client computers comes right up once you log in. In the console it will tell you the IP address under settings, then just open up remote desktop on your PC, put in the IP address and then when the ...

I've had mine hooked up for a couple days now and while it is not silent, is is very quiet. The loudest component is the hdds. (I currently have 2 1TB drives installed and plan to add a 3rd) I'm not happy with the temperatures though. The cpu is running about 65, so maybe adding a small 80mm fan as ...

Those links don't work for me? I just got home 20min ago and unboxed my H340. It looks pretty solid, aside from the plastic door and handles on the hot swap bay, but I don't think they'll pose any real problem of breaking. I pulled the drive that came with it and it is indeed a WD Green 1TB drive wi...

I think the version available outside the US is different than our version. Ours is called the H340 and is powered by a single core Atom cpu and 2Gb RAM, no wi-fi and a single 1Tb drive. I'm looking forward to your impressions. I've spent the last several days reading up about the HP servers, but th...

anyone using an Enermax Modu82+ with a DFI mobo?
I purchased a 525w Enermax Modu82+ 525w after reading several good reviews. Here is my system: DFI P35 dark series mobo Intel Q6600 G0 8Gb G.skill DDR2 800 (4x2Gb) Evga 8800GTS 512 Auzen X-Fi Prelude Seagate 7200.10 250Gb Samsung F1 750Gb single optical drive The first PSU died after only 11 days. Enermax Modu82+ 525 louder than Antec Neo 500w?
I purchased a Modu82+ at the beginning of the month and immediately had a vibration that I was able to tone down by re-routing cables, but it still had a hum to it that was quite evident in my chair. Then 11 days later it completely died. I just got a substitute Antec NeoHE500w and it's quieter! Any...

I just added a PSU silencer (ruber gasket) for good measure and re-ran the main atx cable from behind the mobo to in front. System is a lot quieter now. I think the cable was transferring any vibrations from the psu to the exterior of the case. System is not 100% silent, but I think it's as quite as...

fans are soft mounted. The hdds are mounted in the semi-soft mount stock hdd cages. I did not change fans or hdds when I changed out the psu so all of them are the same. I have a psu 'silencer' somewhere but could not find it. One of those ruber gasket things. I did notice that with the side panel o...

Last night I got a new Enermax Modu82+525 psu to replace my PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610. The Silencer has been a great unit, but I purchased it for the large single rail when I was heavily OCing and had a large WC system. I've since toned down the accessories and wanted a quieter PSU so that's w...
