Yes, you definitely need to swap fan on the vx450. I don't have much experience with various types of PSU's, but I it's not exactly "ultra quiet". No problem hearing it 3 meters away.

Any activity, reading from harddisk or moving the mouse, makes the power supply whine out ugly high frequency sounds.
