Re: Quiet ATX Gamer, R5 Version

Now the problems with the R5 case: 1. HDD trays in my bottom cage are loose. There was noticeable rattling due to drive vibration (there are rubber elements designed to reduce vibration, but in case of this HDD they weren't enough). I easily fixed it with some tape and paper, but I shouldn't be for...

Re: Dual tower CPU heatsink cooler for "cheap" from Poland

Thanks for the link, I was already thinking about it. Unfortunately it seems there are no HDD enclosures for sale on the Polish market. At leas I can't find any. Maybe I'll have to make my own, though the disk sin't that bad. It makes strange noises on power up, like a floppy drive. I've made a so ...

Re: Asus GTX 960 crash issue

At the moment I tried lowering the clock by 90 MHz (max that MSI Afterburner allows) and Memory by 200 MHz. It did not help. That's about 7 and 5% underclock.

Maybe the UnofficialOverclockingMode will allow more. I'll also try increasing voltage a bit.

Re: Asus GTX 960 crash issue

If it crashed at standard fan profile, I would RMA it straight away. But it survived ~30 minutes of Furmark at standard fan rpm. I'm not sure they'll accept it. The screen goes blue/white or perhaps some other color (it's not a BSoD), than after a few moments the monitor loses signal. The system fre...

Re: Asus GTX 960 crash issue

Damn, normally it crashed after reaching 78 deg, so I tried to set a fan profile that would keep it at 75. But it also crashed after some time. I'm disappointed with this card.

Re: Does anyone have a GTX 960?

I have this card: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1439-page4.html I also doubt it would work passively. I believe that the voltage regulators need extra cooling. Most of these cards are passive at idle and have software fan control. Mine unfortunately has a problem with going over 78 deg C (nor...

Re: Does anyone have a GTX 960?

My card has a short PCB, so I can't help.

Buy you can measure how many pixels sit between mounting holes on the pictures, and than calculate how many mm it is taking the PCI-E slot length as a reference.

Re: Quiet ATX Gamer, R5 Version

The R5 case is a really good product. Apart from some issues, it's made both well and with attention to details. It has a lot of space inside (probably because it's huge!), and with a modular Be Quiet! PSU I was able to achieve a very clean setup. No need to write much more, SPCR's review gives a go...

Asus GTX 960 crash issue

Hi, It seems that I have the same problem as described in the SPCR review : Typically I try to shoot for a standard GPU temperature of 85°C but unfortunately an odd bug that caused our test system to crash the moment the GPU temperature reached 77°C with the GTX 960. However, this seems to be an iso...

Re: Dual tower CPU heatsink cooler for "cheap" from Poland

I've decided to take a risk and buy it. The heatsink isn't expensive, so even if the fans turned out to be bad, I could always buy better ones for the same money as some other coolers. My current gear that can affect the sound is as follows: R5 case with stock fans, an Asus 960 GTX (passive at idle)...

I'd suggest buying a new graphics card when you really need it. HD4850 should be sufficient at the moment and int he future you will be able to buy better cards than the GTX 260 for the same price.

Two Fanders if you're able to get them. Nexus fans are also a good choice as far as I know.

BTW a new revision of Fander fans has been announced a few months ago. Maybe their availability outside Poland will be better ;)

I wonder it how would these numbers change with orthos + ...

My Pro82+ 385 W fan starts spinning from the beginning (yes, the minimum rpm is 450). It's not quiet at 1000 rpm, but it's not very bad. Regarding the 425W model, keep in mind that the fan is set to increase its rpm as the load % increases, so whether the fewer watts model will work in higher rpm, thus more noise, really depends on your PC build and its power consumption.. No, it is not. It reacts to temperature increase - at least ...

Hi, ATT is a good thing, despite the fact is's a little buggy. My current 2D setting is 200/500 @ 0.930 V It's stable under ATT built in stability test and LFS. No bigger difference in temperatures compared to 250 / 500 @ 0.968 V. At 0.892 V as well as after lowering memory clock to 475 MHz my card ...

No problems with stability though. I'd check if the VRM and memory gets proper cooling. Are RAM and VRM heatsinks hot?...

Do you really need it passive? You already have active cooling in your case, why not give it some extra airflow from a quiet fan? You should be able to cool the GPU itself, but passivecooling memory and VRM section can be difficult in low airflow environment. Also I'd recommend underclocking & under...

Are you using a modified fan profile?
Lowest fan speed in default profile of my card is 30%. I think it doesn't get higher than 60% even at temp higher than your 72*C.
Just checked : 60% kicks in after passing 90*
