Re: Antec NSK 3480 Too Small for Normal/Big PSUs

yea i found this problem too. i am resigned to using the factory Antec Earth Watts 380W, after giving up on trying to use my Corsair 520HX in this case. :(

my LG dvdrw drive is shorter than regular ones so that helps a tiny bit.

Re: Best CPU cooler for Antec NSK2480 HTPC

i had a regular scythe shuriken in the NSK2480 cooling a AMD Phenom X2 545 that was unlocked to a fully stable x4.

temps were fine. could get away with one exhaust fan and blocked off the other hole using the supplied plastic board thing.

btw the ram slots are closer to the cpu socket on your board compared to the other one and the IFX 14 appears longer. :?

so you might have issues in that way.

which LGA775 board? they're not all the same

my board which is the ASUS P5K-VM has the cpu cooler holes like about 2 capacitor diameters away from the edge of the board. compared to the similar board GIGABYTE GA-G33M-DS2R which is further from the edge.

i have a NSK3480 at the moment but was considering getting the TJ08 for a new build. my problem with the NSK3480 is that i can't use my Corsair 520HX with an optical drive installed because the powersupply is too long. also i can't use my Xigmatek S1283 mounting vertically so that air blows out the ...

agree with most of the above +
i think they should make it slightly longer so it can occupy a 3rd party powersupply and standard optical drive COMFORTABLY.

and also change the front somehow so it so plastic looking.

While the Xigmatek is quite lightweight, I would personally nether ship a computer with the heatsink installed, not even the stock heatsink. It takes on AM3 ~1 minute to open the case and remove the heatsink, and maybe 4 minutes to reinstall it - so why risk it? You never know how rough it will be ...
