Re: 130W ATX power supply + 120W AC adapter 54$
Hey. You actually already answered my questions through my direct emails to you, but thanks for taking the time that you don't have to respond over here too! Everything's mounted, connected, and running perfectly at the moment. FYI, these were the fancy mounting pins I was talking about: http://www....

Re: 130W ATX power supply + 120W AC adapter 54$
So I'm finally going to use my Winmate to build out my new HTPC/file server and I believe I'll need a custom solution for mounting the power supply. Here are my questions: 1. I think the easiest way to mount my PS would be to do so internally, away from the back edge of the case (Silverstone ML03B)....

i5 + 150 PicoPsu?
Does anyone know if I can run an i5 off of a 150 Pico/Brick combo? After my father saw my desktop and then my Zino, he asked if I would build him a new PC that would last 5+ years. I'm thinking of: i5 (using integrated video) an itx or matx mobo w/ USB 3.0 4 GB Ram 320 GB notebook HD 150 Pico w/ 150...

chaOsEngine, sorry for the very very late reply, but a full-length card should most certainly fit in this system. If you look @ the 4th picture, you can see the entire left side of the interior (when looking @ the front) is open. The support bar that also holds the bracket for the edge of the HD/Opt...

From what has been posted around the web, it doesn't seem like Zotac will be "fixing" the problem (lack of undervolting), as they don't see it as one. Again, the limiting factor for fanless isn't going to be your CPU temp, it will be your GPU temp. You won't be able to keep the GPU cool enough witho...

I'm using the 102 (110) watt brick with the pico 120. I can only assume that a 150 w/ a brick to match should be able to handle the tuner. If I were you, I'd search around and try to find some wattage #'s for various tuner cards to see what they eat when working. ...at absolute worst, you can opt fo...

See, I still don't get why the very CPU we both have is said to use approx between 150 and 190W while a 100W brick apparently is able to supply sufficient power for the whole system. From my understanding: The Pico-PSU 120 was designed to handle the distribution of up to 120 watts of electricity. T...

With a pico and that setup, your max wattage will be ~85. I have the same setup + a full-size DVD drive. I've been running on a Pico 120 and the 102 watt brick without any problems for ~1 month. ...instead of all the research you did, you could have done a google search for "zotac 9300 pico" and my ...

So far, the board has been very stable. It hasn't crashed at all and I have had no hangs or freezes. Smooth sailing, really. I don't push it that much, but I have done some video editing (a few hours worth) and have had up-times of several days and haven't seen a blip. The S3-resume fan issue has (s...

To jhhoffma re: Are you sure you don't mean the CPU was at 100% and it was still quiet? I have not setup this board's fan management yet, so unless there's some way that I don't know about for a board to lower the fan's voltage, then it's likely running at full speed. I'll have to check when I get h...

My home is actually rather quiet (again, except for that damned fridge), and yes, at 100% CPU use, the fan was surprisingly very quiet and the HS did a pretty good job of cooling (again, not OC'd). All of the above is moot, though. northbear wrote: I am Looking at setting up a fairly quiet (not tota...

I just put together a small PC based on the Zotac 9300 itx board with an E8400. If I hadn't purchased an after market cooler before putting the PC together, I wouldn't have bothered buying one at all (assuming your not OC'ing). At stock, and with the fan running at 100%, it was very quiet at 1 m. Th...

I searched around a lot last night before buying the drive, and the consensus of reviews seems to be that it's quiet, but might introduce minor vibrations to the system. Here is a spattering of reviews from the last few weeks at Newegg. I figure if it's quiet, then the vibrations should be able to b...

I was researching heatsinks last night and, based upon prelimenary measurements, I think I might have about 70 mm before hitting the optical drive (when the PS is removed), but that restriction may only be in place if the HS extends sideways (as opposed to purely vertical). I won't know 'til the cas...

Alright. So I've finally decided that it's time to upgrade from my Athlon XP 2200. It's served me well for the past 5 years, but it's time to stop stressing the computer while opening IE.
