Hi guys, Great review, a good read as always! Very nice case, worth the money in my experience. Small mistake in the description of the GD04 case though. I installed one for a friend last week, it doesn't use a slim optical drive. It uses a regular optical drive, and you stick a supplied plate to th...

There is no such limitation as "2 cards per device" in Windows XP. We use dozens of quad-vga video cards (Matrox) at work without issues. So you should be able to use a third monitor is you get a Displayport to DVI, or HDMI-to-DVI adapter (if a max resolution of 1920x1200 is enough for that monitor)...

You could get a Nexus Value 430 which has shorter length to make sure to have enough space. It is 23mm shorter than ATX spec. I have a Zalman 460B-APS (standard ATX length) with an LG GGC-H20L Blu-Ray reader in my NSK3480 and it fits, but I had to find right-angle SATA and power cinnectors... and th...

I got those: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.18023
It's the cheapest I found them, took about two weeks to get to Montreal from Hong Kong.
Once again I didn't try them yet, so I don't know if they're any good.

what on earth is that 1kW for though? The GTX275 can't honestly need that much power... IIRC the point was that the power use (in %) would be so low that the fan would never ramp up. I remember reading a post about that a few weeks ago, but I don't remember if it was the same person... and I can't ...

Is there a benefit between using a PCI tuner or a USB one? Would I run into issues using a USB tuner on Linux? I remember reading posts on the Mythtv mailing list, using 4 ATSC tuners on a single (powered) USB 2 hub, with multirec (with a least 2 recordings _per_ tuner). Worked fine, don't worry ab...

Re: New HTPC Machine (preferable for Linux)
I have no better suggestions for the case, but since I own NSK2400 I think the NSK24x0/Fusion is surprisingly large when compared to many video/hifi devices... The NSK2480 is actually very close to the size of my Denon AVR-1909 (amp + source switcher). Maybe half an inch shorter (height) There is a...

This page of the Zotac 9300 review http://www.silentpcreview.com/article943-page5.html should answer your question about power consumption.
It shows the AC power draw of that motherboard + E7200 cpu. A 120W PicoPSU should be more than enough for your hardware.

As shown here http://noctua.at/main.php?show=productv ... =19&lng=en, they do fit. The design is modified so air goes through both coolers, the airflow is bottom-to-top. Both coolers are rotated to make it possible. The model from that link is for Socket 771 Xeons.

I built something similar a month or so ago (not posted yet!) If you were ever planning on undervolting, the BIOS on that motherboard doesn't support it. The included heatsink was louder at idle than an Antec Tricool 120mm at low speed (which isn't even quiet by the usual SPCR standards). When it ha...
