Fan and HD positions in P183

I've just started up my new PC, configured as seen in my signature. It has been assembled by my dealer but I chose all the parts. This means that the two Antec fans that came with the case are placed in the rear and at the top and I've turned of the top fan. There is also a Noctua fan in the front l...

Thanks for the input, everyone! I know my dealer can get hold of both the P182 and the P183, so I'll have to choose. Right now I favour the P183. I might have to cover the top vent, but it seems worth it. But my standpoint changes about 5 times a day... Concerning the graphics (sorry, it is o...

So what "newer passive" graphics should I get? If I'm a newbie on quiet computers and parts I am... whatever worse than that... on graphics.

I have external disks (and external services on internet) for backups.

Never ever had problems when downmixing to one single disk, even on my oldish, soon retired, Dell Dimension 8200 2GHz. But thanks for the reminder anyway.

Well, I *am* very careful about what any dealer says.

That's why I am asking around in this forum...

Thanks for the reply, great info.

P183 or P193?

This might be better of in the newbie section (I certainly feel like one), but as it is a very "Cases and Damping"-related question I post it here. Feel free to move it... I'm specifying a new PC that will be used mainly for music playing/creation and video editing. NO gaming whatsoever. Proc: Intel...

New (more or less) quiet PC - many questions

I've been lurking around this site and many others for some time now and I'm slowly beginning to get a grip on what parts should be qualified for my new PC. I will mainly use it for video editing and music creation (DAW) apart from the usual "surf 'n office stuff". NO gaming, no o-c! Silence is impo...

i7 system - requirements on PSU?

I've tried to get a grip on the everlasting question of "how much voltage/power does my new system require" but all threads on the subject (that I can understand) seems to be a well out of date. So here is my question: I will buy a new computer, mainly for video editing and music recording/mixing. A...

Quietest ~1TB, at least 7200 RPM?

Adding the parameter of at least 7200 RPM (I do need the performance) to a previous question on this forum - what do you suggest? Would prefer to avoid RAID solutions if possible, but if you have a really great solution using RAID, let me know.
