I guess this is one of the reasons why you wrote "weird mobo".

Have a good luck!
Wow I had absolutely no clue that lm-sensors could control fans. An eye opener, thanks. ;)

No, I cannot use the integrated graphic chip because I'm running Linux. There is really no linux support for the integrated i3 graphics core? I find this surprising! I have not done any reading about it, though. What kernel version are you using? I thought I had seen that 2.6.32 had included i3 sup...

sys fan speed can be either 100%, 75% or 50%. Doesn't fancontrol work with your mobo? Are lm-sensors properly configured? What fan control? Software based? I never used a software based fancontrol... I know that Zalman Fanmate doesn't play well with this board's SYS_FAN header(s) for some reason. I...

Your temps are fine, lots of headroom. You can see mine here for a i7-960 @ 4.2 GHz -- those temps are more borderline -- still fine tuning the OC, but I would not expect my temps to go down on air cooling. Hi, thanks for reply. Something else to consider. Since the system is 1yr old, its possible you have some dust buildup. I would snag a can of compressed air, and clean out the gpu fan and the cpu fan (make sure you pull the power plug first). Its also quite possible that your failing (or failed) PSU has taken out other ...

I would lean towards a PSU problem honestly. Just for the simple fact that your graphics card acted weird, then your HDD failed SMART. Seems to me they arn't getting the right voltages sometimes? I could be wrong. Do you have another PSU you can swap in to test the platform? If so, it may be worth ...

Hi, I would check the capacitors on the motherboard power regulation section (usually between the CPU socket and the I/O connectors on the backplate) and see if any of them are bulging and/or are leaking "goop". If they are, then you have found the problem! Hi, thanks. I will check those out tomorr...

I also heard about that Google paper. It was discussed on the forums a couple years ago I think.
