I'd just noticed that the HR-01 is lacking support for the 1156 socket. Maybe you should look for a Thermalright Venomous X with the same Scythe fan on instead.

A Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B , could also be an alternative to the HR-01.

PSU: SeaSonic X-650 (semi passive; totally quiet at low to medium loads)

CPU cooler: maybe a Thermalright HR-01 Plus with a Scythe Slipstream 500 on it.

The problem has solved itself; the sound is now working! I have no idea what caused it to do so. Thanks for your help anyway, I can now use sleep mode.

I've tried the drivers on the motherboard DVD and new, fresh ones from Asus' website. No difference. I guess I have to live with this then.

No sound after resume from sleep mode

When I wake the computer from sleep mode, the sound is totally dead. No sound at all is coming from the speakers. The only way to restore the sound is to restart the computer with a real reboot. Does any one know a way to solve this problem? I use the built-in sound on a P5Q-E with the latest sound ...
