Re: Thermaltake Suppressor F51
I am not saying we should do anything a priori. Of course we are all entitled to our own opinions and bias(es) but in the end what we ought to do is test it and compare it with its peers when it comes out as objectively as possibly - nothing more, nothing less.

Re: Fractal Design Define S Tower Case
You probably missed my question in previous post - was I correct in assuming the 3-pin non-PWM fans are now fully controllable with modern motherboards? Thanks for the semantic heads-up - I must say I was always slightly uncomfortable using "dampening" in this context (something felt wrong) but alwa...

Re: Thermaltake Suppressor F51
...Reading the LegitReviews article the TPU snippet is for sheds more light on the issue: http://www.legitreviews.com/thermaltake-accused-of-stealing-new-computex-products-went-too-far_165153 .... Yes, that is actually the link I had had in mind when I mentioned vitriol. I think I understand the po...

Re: Fractal Design Define S Tower Case
My biggest gripe with Define S is the omission of an embedded fan controller - the stock case fans are not PWMs, so how are we supposed to adjust the fan speed? ................................... If they made a version of this case with a simple fan controller embedded in the control panel as in T...

Re: Fractal Design Define S Tower Case
Why did FD remove the dampening material in the first place? ****In clinical trials, dampening a computer case, that was built with properly selected parts inside, did not achieve significantly better results than a placebo. Fair enough - I've just read through the Antec P100 review and saw ...

Re: Thermaltake Suppressor F51
The case is obviously heavily derived from R4/R5 but immitation is the highest form of flattery after all and looking at the reviews, they've added a few nice touches/improvements to R5. Looking at the vitriol around TT, it seems company likes to copy designs around yet no one has so far pressed cha...

Re: Fractal Design Define S Tower Case
I can't imagine there is much a difference at all as the cases are so similar. The test results for the Define S should be identical to an R5 with its main drive cage removed. They are similar but there could be unexpected results here and it's hard to imagine both cases being identical - unless R5...

yeah, this is why i gave up on aftermarket cooling on gpu's, way too many things to consider for. rather spend the money on a non reference card with good cooler pre-installed I somehow missed your post.....I don't think there actually that many things to consider. There's obviously GPU, there's th...

Oh then sorry, somehow i missed that you had 4870. Well, you should allways look at the cooler you removed and see where it does have the thermal pads. Heh, that's the thing - there isn't any, at least not for the brown parts :) These babies were air-cooled only. It's a pity I didn't know about GPU...

3) using VRM-R2 and Arctic Silver 5 on VRM's I have been able to drop from VRM 130 C Furmark max. temp to 50-70 C od two VDDC phases (third VDDC still heats up to 103 C, and I am still pondering why is that so and what can I do to counter it.....of course, not knowing *where* this VDDC sensors are ...

What shocked me was that the TTPro killed their card. BT pretty much gave all AC coolers a conclusive thumbs down. The S1 gave good thermal results though. And I was shocked at the superficialness of the whole review by such a respectable site. Of course they shorted the 5870 and I may have even to...

Re: Blocking my P183's Top Vent
Hey guys, So in my recent quest to silence my computer I got a P183 (Quite the snazzy case) and with the Megahalem & 750rpm Noiseblocker fans the noise level is great, however I'd like to block the top vent off since it seems like it's another vector for noise to escape and I don't intend on using ...

Indeed, I can't find that one either, but is there any other way to control speed of a PWM fan at all? My chip (IT8718F) supports only three PWM modes (Software Controlled, SmartGuardian and ON/OFF). Neither of these modes results in any responsiveness from Speed0x controls at "Readings" tab of Spee...

It fits in my P180 on a Gigabyte EP45-DS3R. It easily cools my E8500 with a direct mounted fan. Speedfan idles the fan at around 495 RPM. Excellent, Jason, thank you very much! I suppose that means it will fit P183 as well (since I'll be taking that one since they ran out of P182's)? I mean, height...

Antec P182 + HR-01 Plus
Hi'yall. So, are we absolutely *positive* that HR-01+ will fit the P182? The Thermalright's detailed drawing is abysmally bad regarding the height of the heatsink - who ever thought of having isometric perspective there should be shot, drowned and then quartered. As a consequence, it is unclear whet...
