Re: ASUS Z87-Deluxe fake 4-pin headers & other fan control i
You can cheat asus program to get better minimum rpm values, but that doesn't fix the ticking pwm noises (too low and the ticking start or stopping.. tested with noctua A14/A15 PWM)in the fake pwm channels.. http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?36621-ASUS-Bios-fan-control-request&p=337135&viewfu...

I can recommend the Be Quiet USC fans though, at low RPMs they're the only fans I know that make absolutely no ticking or whining noises. And they produce absolutely no vibration at all - you hold it in your hand and you can't tell whether it's running or not! I only have the 120mm version, but I'v...

The PL uses the same bearing as the Multiframe, which is definitely a tad better than the bearing the XL fans use. I have two XL3s and one Multiframe, and the Multiframe is definitely better (but not quite as good as the Be Quiet USC, perfect bearing on that one!). The thing about it being develope...

Got myself a F2 1tB drive. Missed the fact that they also existed in 1.5tb size.. oh well. But from what I can tell just by listening. The F2 is quieter than WD 640 GP and certainly a lot quieter than the WD 640 Blue (which I'm going to sell) The F2 is the first drive I don't feel the need to quiet...

YL's 140mm Low's starting voltage is around 7v reliable. Pretty much same as NExus RS 120mm. At 7V its pretty much inaudiable. IMHo you don't need to try 5v for it nor in my experience with two samples it won't even start. Thats why fan controllers need to start at 10-12v and then lower to 4-12v.. ...
