Re: 130W ATX power supply + 120W AC adapter 54$

Hi. I've ordered two PSUs and M7700 adapter to outfit a music server . Generous sharing by others informs me of the usefulness of seperating 'clean/jitter-sensitive' devices from 'dirty/mechanical' devices and their power demands. While I might not NEED 2 PSUs (wattage wise), I am trying to incorpo...

Re: 130W ATX power supply + 120W AC adapter 54$

So I'm finally going to use my Winmate to build out my new HTPC/file server and I believe I'll need a custom solution for mounting the power supply. Here are my questions: 1. I think the easiest way to mount my PS would be to do so internally, away from the back edge of the case (Silverstone ML03B)...

Given a 220W LiteOn brick and your DC-to-DC converter, do you think it's feasible to a) use the 19V input directly taken from the DC in (as in the "two converter" connection) and feed it to an Intel DH61AG motherboard b) use the converter to feed a Radeon 6770? Just reduced the kit with the 120W AC adapter from 69.98$ down to 54.98$. I need to sell the remaining stock before spring since I will not have time after that.

Re: 130W ATX power supply fanless + 120W AC adapter 69$

Do you still sell the DC-DC psu itself? I see you still have ebay listings up in your ebay profile. Also, do you happen to have an adapter to accept laptop barrel connectors (like the one on the pico-psu)? Yes I still sell the DC-DC separately and I have just the 5.5x2.5mm connector if you need one...

Re: x86 with arm like power draw for router/server

Sorry to ask but why no one talks about VIA cpus? Via claims for e2300 model an idle power of 100mw, is it possible? And also has a 1w tdp cpu, is it possible? You probably missed my answer above about the Via ULV 3.5W TDP CPU I have is quite low power idle about 5W for the entire system DVI output...

I have a Via 1Ghz ULV (3.5W TDP) quite small uses about 5W idle and 8 to 9W load.
I will make a video on my youtube channel soon about this then it will be on eBay since I do not use this for anything.

Re: AMD FX-8150 8-Core Bulldozer Processor

The performance / watt is really bad so not good for silent PC :)
But I have expected some undervolt tests and maybe even undervolt underclock see if that will improve drastically the performance / watt.

Powercolor has a Go! Green model that doesn't require a 6-pin PCI-E cable http://www.powercolor.com/Global/products_features.asp?id=237 . It does save a little bit of power. I did a build with an i7-860, but I did the Fanless 130Wx2 ATX PSU with 220W AC adapter for more power. Thanks for the input....

Re: AMD A8-3850 Quad Core Desktop APU

Thanks for the great review. I will have liked some undervolting and maybe underclocking power consumption test. The 32nm used on AMD APU is probably quite bad since the power consumption is higher than the old 45nm part for the same core and performance. I really love the APU concept unfortunately ...

Re: DIY Aluminum case for a Laptop Motherboard.

If you keep it on all the time, most energy is used at idle. How many watts do you estimate the Q8400s CPU uses at idle? The SB idles at lower wattage, doesn't it? If you just turn it on when in use, then what counts is how much work gets done per watt. Are you saying that a 2ghz Q8400 accomplishes...

Re: DIY Aluminum case for a Laptop Motherboard.

Please elucidate what you are saying. It doesn't make sense to me. The only advantage the Quad Q8400s to have would be in the graphics chip energy utilization, and I would expect the SB to do better. I would also expect the SB to accomplish much more with each cycle... and it appears to self under ...
