Re: MikeC's Audio Craft: An Introduction

Cool article! I myself would love to see more audio articles and reviews! As a recording musician silent PC's and audio do go hand in hand! I am also currently in the process of building a home hifi/htpc setup using a PC as the "source". Perhaps an article with how best build an audiophile pc would ...

Re: I give you the ANTEC SOLO II

I would have to agree with Neil on this one. I know they didn't squeeze every change we would have liked but the 3 main areas for me were improved for me. Cable management, video card legth, 120mm fans. The on switch, while cosmetically the same "hopefully" is imporved mechanically. I really don't s...

Re: Case Fan Comparison site

Hope you SPCR readers find this interesting! Indeed: but do you know which methodology do they use? Some results (1.71dB!) seem just unreliable (AFAIK there's no way to record such a level). Hi didn't look into the sites methodology before posting. I mainly found the sound recordings of each fan ve...

Antec TrueQuiet fans

Hi

Just noticed some new fans from Antec, could they be replacements to their current Tri Cools?

Anybody have any experiences with these? Maybe a review would be in order?

Cheers

Re: Opinions on Antec DF-85?

I think the Dark Fleet series are ugly, at least the 1200 wasnt so bad.

Unless you are going 2-3 high end gpu's I would stick with the P182 fo sure.

I guess I was thinking along the lines of a system using intergrated or low end passive gfx, large passive cpu heatsink, seasonic passive PSU and SSD. You would think that a passive system would benefit from as much ventilation as possible no? I think it would be interesting to see how the Lanboy Ai...

Antec Lanboy, IMO ugly as sin.

BUT

Would it make a great enclosure for a fully passive system? Considering all the open mesh.

Your thoughts?

Hi

Yeah, most good cases today that have bottom mounted PSU are designed to draw in fresh air from outside. I dont know why Antec bother with the separate chamber, largely pointless and makes cable management harder.

ddr2 ram speed and voltage

Hi First post here. I have just inherited a q9550 from a friend for my 775 system (up from a E6700) . I have decided to maintain this system and deck it out with 8gb ram and finally get off xp and go win 7 64. The system is used for large audio projects/Games etc. The board is a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 ...

Nice build. You can carefully use a black marker to help mask the scratch. Im not convinced on the intake fan position however, seems like it would be just moving air around the case as opposed to being forced to draw in fresh air from outside the case if you had it installed in one of the front fan...

Yes, I agree that it's time for an update to the Solo. It's a great case (I bought one recently), but with a few simple changes it could be greatly improved and reinvigorate its sales. 1. A single 120mm fan mount at the front, instead of the dual 92mm fan mounts 2. Redesign the door so you don't ha...
