I've had this kb for about 1yr and like it a lot - best KB I've ever owned. I am glad. As for myself, I am still trying to make up my mind. Even independent of the Menu key issue, I am not yet comfortable with the touch style of the keyboard. It keeps missing key strokes and I haven't been able to ...

It might be relevant as the PCI-E slot supplies up to 75w to the video card, and the 6 pin connector the rest of it. For this 80w video card, that would translate in a big question mark on what takes its power from... I am confused. I thought the 6-pin connector was the PCI-E connector. See here . ...

By going higher than 150w you're pretty much getting off the limits of what PicoPSUs can do. You might want to seriously downgrade your video card. Also, do note that a 150w brick won't be powerful enough to supply 150w of power to the computer, as the pico has its own inefficiences to count. I thi...

Re: Pico PSU Connectors
I'm trying to use a Pico PSU with a new mainboard and video card. The mainboard needs an 8 pin 12v connector and the video card needs a 6 pin power connector. Neither are available by the Pico! You might be in a bit of a trouble here. Each circuit of a connector is good for about 6amps of current. ...

A SSD drive is out of my price range right now, perhaps down the line. If you look at my own configuration in my signature line, you will find that the SSD is the only expensive component in it. I built it as an experiment using throw-away components bought on eBay, but I am extremely satisfied wit...

Re: Will the Noctua NH-U12P make my PC quieter?
So… is the NHU12P going to make my system any quieter than the retail Intel cooler? If so, why do the charts show otherwise? And if it won’t make it any quieter, why is this website (among others) recommending it to people wanting noise reduction? Can anyone please clarify this for me because I...

I recommend that you try Google Chrome, for web browsing which is lightweight and fast. Almost never crashes or hangs. I would also recommend a solid state drive (MLC, e.g., Corsair X32 or X64) to hold the operating system and oft-used applications. It makes a big difference in cutting down disk noi...

The first microcomputer I ever used had the CP/M operating system and Microsoft Fortran & Basic compilers. All of them were excellent products. - The Menu key has been displaced by a silly FN key. To get the Menu, you need to press FN+PrintScreen. Get it? If you depend on the Menu key, like I do, it seems that you have to just write off this piece of keyboard real estate. Logitech confirmed that "even using software", you can't remap the F...

Re: Another DA2 + pico question
From what I've read on here, to trigger the dells remote lead I should "shorted pins 1-4 together (blue and white), and pins 5-8 together (red and black). So, your Dell brick should always have the green light on when it is powered up." That is right as far as the pins go. But it can pass 18 Amps o...

Each circuit of the connector, i.e., each pair of the positive and ground terminals, can provide up to 6 Amps of current at 12V, i.e., 72W. So, a 4-pin connector can provide 144W of power, and an 8-pin connector can provide twice that. Of course, whether all this power materializes depends all on yo...

Re: ZEROtherm Nirvana CPU Cooler
2. SPCR's methodology of testing coolers is in my opinion (also) outdated. And now I speak from a silent freack's point of view. I really want to see how the coolers behave on a modern CPU, that is hotter... and gets hotter as it's moderately overclocked (since some heatsinks CAN cool down even a q...

I thought I should mention this here. The Scythe Kama PWM fan that I have isn't able to report fan speeds below about 650rpm. IMHO, both Winmate board and usual PicoPSU won't do because of powerful videocard-CPU tandem. These two together will fry the PSU pretty good :) Maybe 200W power will be enough, but not 130-150. Rather risky setup for diet supplying via external brick. Many of us found that PW-200-V couldn't power ...

In my personal opinion, it is not worth getting a replacement proprietary PSU that wouldn't fit anywhere else but this case. I think a better option is to go the route of a DC-DC PSU. There is the proved and tested PicoPSU-150-XT + Dell DA-2 combination on which there is a lot of info on the forums....
