FS: HDPLEX H5.S and Seasonic 400w PS - Fanless Computing!
Hey guys I have and am selling the coveted HDPLEX H5.S fanless pc enclosure. Its not in stock with the manufacturer (I heard end of summer at the earliest) and its awesome. I used it to great effect with an 1155 microatx motherboard and firewire pcie card in a dual boot (win 7 and osx) setup I put t...

Re: New build: Ivy Bridge in a fanless mini-itx enclousre
Noise and heat is none, zero, zip. Even while playing Diablo 3 on highest settings I have to put my ear to the Kozuti to hear that it's spinning. The Heatsink is then warm to the touch but nothing more: My guess ~40-45 degrees celsius, so maybe the cores are around 50-55?! The Ivy Bridge 22nm tech ...

Re: New build: Ivy Bridge in a fanless mini-itx enclousre
I think I'm going to cannibalize my HDPLEX H5. I can use a micro-atx mb which would be nice from an options perspective.
Thanks again for the comments.

Re: Coolers for Mini-ITX Intel build
I couldn't find the Samuel 17 anywhere, but I'll keep looking. For now I decided to go ahead and install an Antec Kuhler 620. Here's a teaser showing how it fit, but I'll post a full build thread once its done. https://iclaow.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pTiSTg8mGCL69GIFrQ9TjZRUWk0kRyXU8kfmblr_uMLNUvGaC...

Re: New build: Ivy Bridge in a fanless mini-itx enclousre
When I wrote HD above I of course meant HT (hyperthreading). I'll see if the guys at MitxPC can sell it to me without one. Not likely. But you can use the one you've got for another build or sell it. What do you guys think of that as an overall cooling solution? 140mm is pretty wide and covers a si...

Re: New build: Ivy Bridge in a fanless mini-itx enclousre
Guys, I appreciate the feedback. I guess using a fanless hd-plex enclosure with my i3-2125 made me yearn for yet another perfectly silent solution. And, it probably makes sense to provide some context on this system. Basically, I'm looking to put together the ultimate MAME (and other emulator) machi...

Guys, thanks for the tip on the gpu heatsink. Finally got it off and everything installed, including an e8400 processor, 4GB of ram, Big Shuriken cooler, and ISK-300 case. I trimmed the hd mount to get the Big Shuriken to fit but that was no problem. I put the cover back on the case and it runs too ...

Guys, anyone using this with an Antec ISK-300? Plenty of room at the front to mount the actual DC-DC converter, but I'm not sure what to do with the cabling. I'm thinking about just enlarging the current DC input hole (when you remove the female DC connector) and letting the end of the extension ca...

Without access to an ISK-300 I can't tell for sure, but judging from pictures of it (like the ones posted here:), it may not fit with the 2x80mm fan bay mounted. The Big Shuriken extends some 10mm (or 20mm, if you have the heatpipes pointing that way), and it would probably interfere with the fan b...
