i have a a vapor-x 5750 and with a custom fan curve, it can be near silent if not silent even at load. overclocks very well as well even though all 5750 tend to be good at overclocking.

APM/AAM/PM settings for Samsung Spinpoint F3

I was playing around with the APM/AAM/PM settings in HDDScan for my Samsung Spinpoint F3 and lost track of the default settings.

Can anyone tell me what the default settings for my drive would be?

Thanks

Edit: And more importantly, what they should be set to to minimize noise.

You can look into MSI afterburner which lets you define something like 20% at idle, and then slow rise after 40C or something.

Asus 24" VW246H 1080P

I can only hear the buzzing if I put my ears right next to the back of the bezel. Otherwise nope, it's drowned out by the ambient noise.

Thank you very much, that helped a ton!

I set it to 20% fan speed up to 40C then steadily increased it until 100% fan speed at 100C.

Safe to keep my Vapor-X 5750 @ 20% fan speed?

How would you know if it is safe to keep a video card at a certain fan speed?

There needs to be a modification to Catalyst drivers

I propose that there should be a new function to change the idle or 2D fan speed independent of the regular fan speed. Notice how the core clock and memory clock are massively downclocked in 2D mode? fan speed should be able to dial back accordingly. I propose that there should be a fan setting for ...
