Phobya Xtreme NOVA 1080 with just a few fans on it, think that could work?
I'm very interested in a larger external radiator or small size multi rad setup. But then, I imagine you need a higher volume pump for a loop like that?

Re: Opinions on this fancy Asus board.
First things I'd say #1 I'd wonder if my HSF can fit that with any sort of higher performance ram. chances are something like Kingston fury would be ok Dominators? Not so likely. Second thing is I sorta expect any upcoming motherboard I purchase to have 2 M.2 slots. 1 for system and one for games. T...

I've had good luck with the Sonata in the past, Solo is good too, but have not compared them myself. But yeah don't need to worry usually too much about performance focus on quieter parts, I did like the Sonata because it was all steel, easy to access internals, and hard disk noise isolators

Both of those 2 are the same links, same product. the 5870 one is only made for the 5000 series and if you look at the pics on http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/cooling/vga/20/accelero-xtreme-5870.html?c=2182 second row, 3rd pic from left it doesn't show any vrm heatsinks that will work on a 6950, at least ...

Re: Experience with Piezo fans?
My thoughts on this, there is a lower voltage version that uses an inverter that puts out a special wave (equal to the resonant frequency) from a flat DC voltage. So I do see this as being viable for PC's Otherwise, we would have to see some sort of modification to the ATX psu spec; Or else a 110v l...

that 60hz is not referring to sound, it's an AC fan that runs at 115v 60hz which is wall outlet voltage in N. America. I don't see anything there referring to noise. But this is something intel has been working on and it seems they have patents pending, but this stuff all seems (at least in referenc...

I see that biostar does have their SATA connectors laid out in a rather odd way, maybe a SATA controller card is the solution.

Re: Which cooler for a modded 6950?
@magu2k, If you look up a few posts, you'll see that SecretFire plugged the fan into a motherboard header and used Speedfan to slow the fans down to 50%. Alternatively, perhaps you could use one of the Zalman in-line resistors (RC100 5v or RC56 7v). Personally, I want a cooler that uses PWM fans th...

Hi while I also have my doubts on this phenomenon, I'm not here to judge, I did run across this http://www.lowemfoffice.com/shielded_mouse.htm your best bet may be through clever modifications of your hardware, and smart placement (think KVM or other extensions), "dumb" terminals, network storage, e...

There is, VERY approximately 2.5 inches from the top of the mounting bracket to hitting your side panel. I measured this with the case closed while standing in front leaning over with a flashlight and tape measure, so it gives you an idea but maybe someone (or if I think of it tomorrow) I can get a ...

Re: Which cooler for a modded 6950?
Here's my short review of the Gelid Icy Vision 2. It's louder than the stock (HIS 6950 1gb) cooler at idle and continues to be until the stock hits about 50% or so. So gotta put up with that noise all the time right now. The instructions are crap. I got gipped on the spring loaded bolts/screws. so r...

ok I will try that, Looking at it, that does seem to make sense. The only thing using the 2nd rail on my machine then is my hard drives, everything else is on 12v1 and 12v2. and I had always assumed that those two, being non-mod conencotrs were on teh same rail/circuit as the ATX connector, P3 etc.

It may be too early to say with any certainty but it seems the driver was really messed up, I was using 11.6, freshly downloaded but whatever happened, the CPU is not overheating now and (so far) not getting any crashing Now I've used ATI cards since at least 1999. So I have done many installs on AT...

well this PSU seems to be SLI certified meaning you can use all 4 for video cards so I guess it shouldn't matter then which 2 are used on a single card. Hopefully I'm right got the card today so about to toss it in, I won't be able to change out the cooler for a couple weeks

I have an Antec EA-750 ( http://www.antec.com/pdf/manuals/EA-750_Manual_EN.pdf ) and am in the process of upgrading my video card to a model which uses 2 6 pin PCI-E connectors. This PSU has one non-modular cable with 2 6 pin connectors and I seem to have misplaced the modular cable which has the ad...

inexpensive PS Could be that. At startup, there is some noise maybe from PS like fan spin up and then that noise settles down to nothing. It is normal for video card fans to really give a good spin up during post. I can't say so much for Nvidia, but definitely ATI's. Some CPU fans may do this too. ...

Hi guys so I am getting a P183, and need fans for this box, silent/quiet of course. One thing I do want to do is keep the front Inside the door as I will likely be removing the door) to be all black so my intent, hopefully, is to have purely black fans for the front two. the other two, top and rear,...

Go with a Scythe S-Flex 1600rpm if you are planning on soldering the fan to the PSU fan header for speed variations by voltage. This worked great in my noisy Zalman 600W PSU. One tip - buy a 3pin fan extension cable and cut that to solder it to the PSU fan header. Then just attach the S-Flex to the...

PSU fan reaplcement
HI all this is my first post here, I am using an Earthwatts 750, and it is great so far although a bit noisier than I would like. Any suggestions on what would be a good, reasonably quiet fan that would provide enough air to keep the PSU cool? Edit: I was thinking like a Noctua but not sure if it is...
