Update Got the WD Green a while back from RMA. This time it works and goes quite fast for a 5400RPM inaudible drive :) http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp125/Henkje1/P180%20Mini%20build/WDGreen2TB.png This was when moving files from my WD 640GB WD6400AAKS to my WD20EARS. That cpu heatsink looks kinda small and therefore loud. How is the sound in real life?

Re: P180 Mini with window [Q6600 + 8600GT]

Well, long time no see but i bought something last weekend (now its a wait till next weekend before i have it). I purchased a: - Accelero S1 rev 2 for on my 5770 (its a non-reference card so it fits) - Western Digital Green WD20EARS (10 gb more and my 640GB drive is filled up) What i hope to do with...

Re: P180 Mini with window [Q6600 + 8600GT]

Upgrade! I upgraded my video card. I bought a used ATi Radeon 5770. Now i need to make it more silent. Im thinking about a Accelero S1 (its a non-reference card) and there are some experiments on SPCR that show that the card is usable passive. Oh and btw. Its a MSI R5770 PM1DG or something like tha...

Re: Quiet computer for moderate gaming (updated)

Thanks. I fixed the images. I am hesitant about cutting the rear fan grill because I wouldn't be able to cut it nicely enough to present the computer as a gift. Covered up the top side fan hole, but left the bottom side fan hole partially open for GPU cooling. U can lower the gpu temps with a decen...

Re: P183 HDD cage fan also in P180 Mini?

I think it may fit. Because in the current situation it fits pretty darn good. There is about 2mm space between the fan and the accelero.

But i dont have a mount for the fan so i need to have something i can remake.

P183 HDD cage fan also in P180 Mini?

Hello, I was planning a upgrade of my system (Graphics) with 2 cards. I know my system is a matx system, and my motherboard doesnt have 2 PCIe slots. But im working on that. Im thinking of running 2 midrange cards passive with a fan close to them. But i also want it to be good looking because i have...

Re: PCStat's Most Common Ways to Kill a PC

Hmm.. in my experience the biggest problem of all failiures is a bad PSU. For example: I build PC's for people with the intention a stable system. My mate does that too. But his clients dont have a pc longer than 5 years becaus the pc is dead. My clients pc's (even the older ones) are still gong str...

You cant put a PSU in there and have a graphics card with a wide cooler like an accelero or Scythe Setsugen.

Only with cards which have the back panel connectors no stacked but next to eachother.

Re: Advice on a small but well performing AM3/AM2 cooler

A Xigmatek HDT-S1283 pointing towards the top of the motherboard. Hr05 on the Northbridge and a Scythe GT on the xigmatek.

GT's have a good backpressure so it will move some air through the HR-05 (and even more if you make a duct).

I was thinking. A radgrill would look great on that system.

I dont think it will block the airflow that much. Especially with those temps you can have some restriction.

Hows the temp of the 5850? Especially the VRM's?

My WD Blue 640GB is iding at 35 degrees and maxes out on 41 degrees. Nothing to worry about.

A simple rule is to have a HDD that is not getting over 60 degrees. Over 60 degrees there is more chance on failiures. This was researched by Google.

I still think the 1200 isnt the right case for silence. That gigabyte board has more than enough cooling power for a lowr air flow situation. So is the ninja.

Its al about the airflow in your case. A little breeze over your motherboard will make a big difference.

VRM's can easily stand temps like CPU's. Also it has a link with the TDP of the CPU.

WD Blue are very reliable drives which do run always (unline WD Greens which spindown) and WD Blacks who have raw performance and are noisy.

Just get 2 drives. One for drive and one for backups.

easy. Just put the 4 grommets through the hole. Then align the fan on the grommets and pull the grommets. then your fan is secured?
