Re: Disappointing performances from Scythe
I have a nzxt sentry 2 since 3 good years, tested with many fans/brands and i haven't noticed "buzzing noise" unless it's a high speed (+1200 rpm) they make noise( no buzz though) For your gpu there are encased fans that you connect on a pci bus they exhaust the air behind, i've never tried but it's...

Re: How do I cut a fan hole in my case?
I have asked the same question to a guy who made a neat mod (cut a hole on aluminum) a while ago and he advised me to use a this tool: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iMiH8wYTDY (cutting hole demo at 2.46) You cut a small hole first and then at the right diameter it's easier. The sharp edges can be ...

Perhaps you have a software that's causing all the trouble, a defrag app or a health status app that checks the drive restlessly but if you say the drive is suspended i don't know

Re: Fan Controller recommendations for 3 & 4 pin fans?
Sentry 2 for me, you can disable the beep noise it does when you press keys, can disable the lcd altogether, control 2/3pin fans (4 pins fans are for mobo only anyways), has worked reliably thus far, 1year of use.Don't show rpm's but i don't think that's very useful. has more options like temp max r...

Re: psu fan position, airflow and possible noise
psu at the bottom/fan on top i've tried in a hot summer day with a GT220, result: it's a no-no, temps get high ~ 50°C .I have a PC-B10. I have the fan at the bottom now the max temp inside the psu reach 40°C (37-38 is the norm) depending if i put the other fans on or not. I use this pc daily to watc...

If you click on manual > 60% the fan will run at 60%..simple. It only work for 4-pins (pwm) fans indeed

Re: Coil whine issue - Not solved - tried 4 different PSU's
I don't know which part is more prone to whine but i know one thing: PSU do whine. I did a very simple test with my previous psu some time ago. First i plugged the old psu and controlled its fan with a rheobus: What did i hear ? Some kind of strange hiss.I turned off the fan, still the hiss. I plug ...

Re: Coil whine issue - Not solved - tried 4 different PSU's
I suggest you consider buying (or at least try) a Zalman psu.I have this model No whine, i certify it.The fan inside was quiet at first then made some noise past the 4 months mark, i have replaced it eventually (had to cut the wires though), everything's back to normal. Also, you might wanna have a ...

Re: FT02 vs P183 which is quieter?
For video editing you need either the latest cpu ( i7 kind) or a dedicated board for real time editing , Canopus HD storm for example. A small GC like a low end GT2xx will not help you in any way in most high end softwares (NLE kind: Vegas, Edius etc..) It's only ok for playback hd video that's it. ...

Re: Lian-li pc-b10 OR Antec p193?
I've made a topic about the pc-b10 i own a while ago. The front panel makes a difference regarding noise, i have the pc in my couch running daily. If i leave the front panel open my ears catch the hum. Regarding the properties of aluminum i believe the "better dissipation" is a myth also. The advanta...

I have the Samsung SH-B083 which is of the same design than B123L as far as i can tell. Re: Questions about manual speed control of fans
1. If I buy a regular non PWM fan, will it have the equivalent 3 wires, which I could wire up to the case controls? The fans you have are non PWM it seems (PWM = 4 pins), yours are only 2 pins.3pins is also non pwm 2. Are there any elegant solutions, or am I left to cutting and twisting various wir...

Yeah, i'd need HQ pictures to have the confirmation of such assertion. By the way, i have already pointed out the major problem of such "MacGyverism": the temps sensor. Assuming you only got 1 pwm-able header (more often than not the cpu header) it read the temps of the cpu only . So based on that o...

Well, that was easy :) I just plugged the two case fans into motherboards 3-pin case fan headers, and then i split the pwm-signal from cpu fan header into these two fans. I don't get it Once the two fans are connected to the 3pin fan headers how can you connect the "control" wire from the cpu heade...

10mm thick fan
I'm looking for a fan that would be 10mm thick (and 80mm or wider) , my idea would be to build a graphic card cooler (I have a GT220, not a monster) on one single pci bracket such as this http://www.lian-li.com/v2/tw/product/BS-08-i.jpg except this one use two and it don't suit my needs.
