Re: Cooler Master Seidon 240M: Dual Fan Liquid CPU Cooler

The radiator looks like a 2 pass microchannel coil. The fluid flows in the horizontal parts and the squiggly bits are the fins. The fluid flows down one half, collects in the header opposite the connections and then flows back across the radiator and out of outlet connection. Anyways, I just thought...

Re: Icy Dock Blizzard HDD Enclosure & EZ-Dock Docking Statio

Quick question on the esata statements... Does that mean the esata port on my sata 6gbps only motherboard is likely a 6gbps port as well? I've looked around but I haven't found anyone actually test the same setup in both internal and esata ports to check. Nor can i find any mention anywhere that esa...

Re: Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced Mini-ITX Case

The case has a front 120 mm intake fan but we doubt its effectiveness as its intake source is a small slit at the bottom. It also looks like there are some vents in the side of the slant behind the brushed aluminium panels, can anyone confirm that? As for wanting a smaller "shoebox" case, how about...

Re: SpeedFan: A Basic Guide to Motherboard Fan Control

anyone know of anything like speedfan for linux? I have things for the harddrives, and cpu speeds, and a number of other things, but not the case fans, I get whatever i can set in the bios. It would be neat to be able to use CPU load/command activity to "predict" the load in a few seconds and auto r...

Re: AMD FX-8150 8-Core Bulldozer Processor

Any shot of getting some heavy multi-threading benches in there? time to complete 4/6/8/10/12 parallel Photoshop benches for example. maybe dual TPMGEnc benches as well. Or at least list the benchmarks thread count along with the results. Also any chance of some of these run under linux as well(like...

sata 6gbps

When these sata 6 gbps drives are tested, do you use a sata 6 gbps controller? Would you expect to see better performance out of them for the same amount of noise that way? Would there be any change in acoustics by using the 6gbps controller? The seagate XT from last week was tested with what looked...

You may even try some different reading: maybe it might help a bit further.

AHHA! page 5 has the info I was looking for, could that be added to the PSU fundamentals page, or at least linked?

Okay, I read though this thread and couldn't find updated power numbers. Any chance of getting something like the new heatsink test platform with a newer(GTX4xx or a AMD58xx) video card, dual 3.5" drives, and a bluray optical tested? If the 130W TDP cpu from the heatsink platform seems too much for ...

I think just like the heatsink testing platform you've put yourself in another minority. Quite the reverse -- you are the one who's in the minority here. No one here cares about absolute cooling performance -- it's always relative to the noise. I think most here should really care about enough cool...

Thoughts

I agree with the post above about using spl values or temp rises maybe (delta T/SPL) as the independent variable. Other than that, great to see the FPM/CFM numbers, this helps balance out fans in a case. As you don't really want too much in the way of pressure in a case, too much negitive, and you p...

Cage Screws.

The correct procedure is just like described in article, "On most small cases, the top cover comes off, the hard drive cage/tray is lowered in and lazily screwed in from the top with relative ease". I had to go back and look very closely at the pictures to understand what you were talking about. On...

A few comments.

On the other hand, I`m not too fond of putting the psu intake directly above the cpu cooler, even if there is some clearance in this case. This would be helped with a lower wattage board. say a 6W-20W VIA board As for my thoughts, the Jetway NF76-N1GL-LF with the 4 sata port daughter-board (ADPE4S-...
