no I have avoid this, touching the metal only on the bottom (which I agree I should also damp).
It is actually easy to hear as the sound is different in that case (high buzz) ... as far as I can tell I hear only fan/air noise.

Fan is not a problem as I have a bunch of "Arctic F12 Pro PWM - 120mm" I could start with.

What is the performance versus the stock fan?

Just realize that the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 actually does not fit.

For the mini ninja it is the same choice (without the fan case) as the height is 115mm.
