Re: Seasonic G360W gold for $60 - Review & Giveaway!

Great review and great context. I've been interested in this PSU ever since it was previewed last year at a trade show. I'm currently running my system on a 460W Seasonic Gold PSU and its great to fit right into the peak efficiency curve. This will likely become my go-to PSU for future builds, just ...

single slot version is out: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814131461
anyone interested if this can be run on a 120W PicoPSU?

Other hardware: ASUS H61 itx, Pentium G620, two DDR3 DIMMS, SSD

I might consider getting this just to try it out

Re: Radeon 7770 and 7750 reviews out

According to the first post in the thread, the 7750 draws only 40W in normal game use and 52W in Furmark. With some planning, it seems very doable. >20W under your worst case assumption. You're right; I missed that when I was looking for tested maximum power draw. It does sound doable, though I'd s...

Re: Radeon 7770 and 7750 reviews out

Does anyone know if the Radeon 7750 can be run in a system with a Pico-PSU?

I'm thinking of putting it a http://www.logicsupply.com/products/c292 with a Sandy Bridge itx system.

The PicoPSU that I have now is the 120-WI with a 120w FSP Block

Hey, I'm trying to build my own computer for the first time (used to buy pre-built), and noise is a significant concern/priority for me. Any advise/suggestions would be appreciated, both in general terms and in noise reduction. I'm from Australia. The currently selected stuff represent about how mu...

Re: What picoPSU for fileserver / CCTV PC

Hi, I am looking to have a quiet PC to act as a home server / CCTV machine running WHS. I planned a 500 GB HD for OS and 2x2TB 5400 (Samsung green F4s) with 2x2GB ram. I have 2 PCI video capture cards, specifically Picolo Pro2 The machine is intended to be dual use. The CCTV requirements are relate...

Looks incredible. What are your idle and load CPU temps?

What I'm interested in is with ventilation above the HR02, could it passively cool a 2500K/2600K at stock? That is, a completely fanless system.

I've read a lot on these forums and tried to synthesize my answers from everyone's comments (which are great, BTW) but ultimately I am going to need some specific advice. Re: Questions about my build with Antec P183

Hello, I recently read the review of the Antec P183 V3 and thought it would be a good case to use for my new computer. Some questions have popped up (not only about the case but the computer in general). Note that I am not out for the silent computer but rather as silent as reasonable given the com...

Re: Fractal XL, OC 2600K, Fan Recommendation

I noticed a couple of things that may help, so I registered for an account. It looks like your PS isn't taking advantage of the dedicated bottom vent. That could be your biggest problem. Under load it is going to fight the GPU/CPU chamber for air. You could easily test the theory by removing the si...

I had missed that you were overclocking to 4.7Ghz. In view of that I would suggest that you replace the existing 2 fans on the CPU cooler and the exhaust fan with the Thermalright TY-140 140mm PWM fan http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&manufacturers_id=28&produc...

Re: Fractal XL, OC 2600K, Fan Recommendation

but would suspending the HDDs (if possible) be a practicality and of use in reducing overall noise in this case? It won't help if they aren't the dominant source of noise. Take a look at: http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=539359#p539359 Keep in mind that when the HD is suspended ...

Yea, the clockspeed of the OC is not up to me. I have a 2500K in my personal rig that I've clocked to 4.7GHZ 1.35V even though I can run 4.8GHZ at a higher voltage. What I want to know is how did you get "dynamic voltages" working and what motherboard are you using? CPU-Z reports 1.35V at idle and ...

Re: Fractal XL, OC 2600K, Fan Recommendation

Your friend's motherboard has excellent BIOS PWM fan controls including the ability to select a Silent, Normal or Gaming fan profile. Re: Fractal XL, OC 2600K, Fan Recommendation

Seems like you need to do something more fundamental than change fans. 1. How about routing some of the cool external air directly through the back fan to your cooler. Try using a 120mm back fan and hooking it to one of these ducts (one is longer than the other, I think you need the longer blue one...

Re: Vinyl Floor Tiles for Case Damping

I bought a 18"x18" tile this morning and applied it to my ATCS840's side panel. Did not make an appreciable difference, but it may be due to my case rather than the product itself. Certainly makes the panel heavier and less vibration prone. Also makes the panel more difficult to remove. Well worth $...

what s that behind your video cards? ios it soem box with a fan to blow away hot air? Yes, it came with the case. Its a GPU duct holding a single Nexus 120mm fan. It helps to exhaust air from the GPUs which allows them to keep their fans running at slower speeds. I installed the vinyl tiling, altho...

Re: Best fan configuration with Noctua NH-D14

I have a new sandy bridge system. My case is an Antec P180B . Right now I have no case fans accept the Noctua heat sink fans (and PSU fan). The Noctuas seamed really noisy at first (compared to my old Nexus D12SL-12 fans). So I put the ULNA voltage adapters on them and they got quieter. Ultimately ...

Re: Cost-effective sound dampening material

I came to the forum today searching for information on sound dampening. I too want to reduce the sound output from my ATCS840. I do agree that much of the vibrations seem to be sourced from the HDD cage. I removed all my unnecessary HDDs and the system is much quieter. Something that helped a LOT wa...

You're right, you do not seem to be allowed to set fan speeds lower than 40% in MSI Afterburner. Maybe its possible using Rivatuner, I'm going to check. I couldn't get Rivatuner to work with the 258.96 drivers. The 40% minimum fan speed is hard-wired into the BIOS, AFAIK. IIRC, the beta Afterburner...
